  • Our sassy shire foal Sapphire is now spreading her wings and is being moved into the sand paddocks.
It's all new experiences for her - from feeling concrete under her feet to being introduced to an unfamiliar new friend-to-be Blossom.
It is really important that she's accepted by the other Shires who we hope will teach her how to be a good and gentle giant.
But what happened when the first introduction was made? Did our 6ft tall teenager get carried away?

Another great video!! Sapphire has always been a handful, right from the get go, but Ruth has done a fantastic job with her so far and as she said, she now needs to learn a bit of etiquette from her own kind. I think she will always be a spirited horse, but I have complete faith that between Ruth and the other shires, she will become a show winner. Looks like a budding friendship between her and Blossom already. Thanks guys xx

Sapphire wonders: Is that a horse or a zebra?

I’m thinking that she doesn’t recognize the zebra is a shire horse

Different Sapphire. This one was born at Cannon Hall Farms. They sold her to someone with more experience with foals as she was a handful.

Hi i do hope that she was not to silly and show off , as we do not want any falling outs . Can she clam down after a bit of uneasy. As they are friends and not enemy. There are to much bad and not much good things in the world at the moment for people and animals people can talk it out animals have to do it by kicking biting which is not good so hopeful she is not sassy for long

We breed, raise and train American Quarter Horses and we start training at birth. Why do y'all not do that? It's much easier than fighting.
