  • BAM 1.8 Litre engine 8L. Audi S3, slowly rebuilding it step by step. camshafts and chain oiled and in, cam cups are cleaned and in, timing mark set in flywheel to bell-housing pointer mark. Chain tensioner tool HCB A1214 for Audi and VW. Milltek exhaust.

      I decided to change it because it's old and showed signs of wear, so why not do it while the engine is apart saves work late if it starts to become loose

    Chain change 300.000km ?

      this car was not that old, it only had 160000km

      the rubber timing belt is what broke and crashed the valves

    Dear Sir I have Passat 1.8t 2004,I did the this Timing Chain,bt the weird thing is that,the car takes time to start,when it's in N it idles very well,bt when I put it into R or D,it has no power to move,could it be that I missed the timing in the camshafts?

      i have the same problem like you,for sure its from camshaft chain timing,i will check tomorrow
