No thanks, I prefer Moonshield, Morphing Into Primal or even Drifter than this. As a fan I'm disappointed with '(This is Our) House' and with In Flames as a (swedish melodic death) metal band.
@@NevermoreNevermore... if you're a normie and not a cult fan then yeah. The change wasn't all that fast. Also I was at the concert in the video. The lightest song they played was paralyzed and I like that song. They didn't even play come clarity. Hell they led off with colony and it was epic. Definitely one of the best concerts I've been too. They're act was also better than breaking Benjamin's that night in my opinion.
I like this song a lot more now that it has been confirmed that it was meant to be on Battles originally. Context is everything, and In Flames albums always have a consistent mood all the way through. This track is good, it just doesn't thematically work at all on I The Mask. It works with Battles' atmosphere.
Didnt knew that, actually makes more sense. Still... why wouldnt they add Not Alone instead? I mean... its kinda similar musically and 10 times better lyrically
I am not ashamed to say this is my favorite out of all the singles from their new album they've released so far.

I love all their albums. And to be honest i really enjoy this. It might not be the old in flames that everyone loves but its what they wanted to do. While doing things for fans is great, if they aren't making music that makes them happy then there is no reason to make it. I'm just grateful that they still make music after this long. It could work better than you might think. His vocals don't sound nearly as edited as on Battles. But he will scream most of it though
Yeah, he'll never pull this off live. He's never been a good singer. I didn't mind it when they were a metal band.
I've seen them live more than 15 times since 2006. Drunk or sober, he has never been able to do his clean parts properly. Definitely one of the most edited "singer" ever, whatever the album. Worse than Burton C. Bell to me. Last remarkable performance was when they played "Moonshield" during one of their latest tour. No cleans, no experimental teenage bullshit, that's where he can still deliver.
@@NeoTyhaich I saw him in 2014 at the beginning of the Siren Charms tour and he sounded fantastic. One year and 100 concerts later, not so much. He doesnt have a technique or preparation whatsoever.

This is honestly similar situation as when their previous album "Battles" was released. Generally speaking people liked the "The End", saying it sounded more like their older work, just like with "I am above" song. But then with "The Truth" people really disliked it, just like "This is our House".

I agree... they seem to do one single that's "typical In Flames" and then one single that's sort of new ground. I actually find this song to be catchy but I get why people are hating...
though also I must say, anytime they release something that's different from their usual music-- people get pretty mad and in a way I feel bad for them. For a band whose sound has evolved and changed around more than almost any metal band I've heard, people still can't deal with the fact that they don't sound like they did in 97... in 2018.

To be honest I discovered In Flames with reroute to remain. I still think it is a great album and I like 2000's In Flames. Then I went back to their old work and now I think Whoracle, Colony and Clayman are their best releases. But what the fuck happened to them after 2008 ?
@@thatoneguysven774 US popularity happened. I really hate to say it, but before all these bands got popular worldwide, they kept doing their own thing without trying to see what's trendy. In Flames and The Amity Affliction are a couple bands to name. I would say Parkway Drive, but I think their new album is great. Not nearly as good as Deep Blue, but it's still great.
@@1MusicsMyLife1 to be honest the newest Amity album is one of their best yet I reckon. Admittedly they are one of the few bands that I actually all their stuff.
@Truedarknight I'm beginning to feel like In Flames are releasing such bad new songs to make previous albums sound less bad. For example Battles is a 2/10 for me, however after listening to this track, "The End" actually feels like a banger in comparison.

I love this band and I like all there albums and this song is really different for them..I like it I didnt at first but it grew on me.. I like to see that they are willing to try some different things to evolve there sound but I do really hope they album sounds more like I am above then this song..

The truth is, In Flames changed, and you don't like the new sound. And that is ok. But there are other people who do like it. I have been fan of In Flames since Whoracle came out and Battles was the album that made me come back to the band after I lost all interest around 10 years ago.

You are not forced to listen to it. You can keep going with your life perfectly without saying a peep. Your opinion isn't really going to change anything.

After listening to it a few times, I really like it! The high vocals at "This is our time we won't back down" sound a bit shitty, honestly, but after that the chorus is catchy and the guitar melodies are really sweet.
