jason herzog is consistently one of the best refs in MMA. its an extremely difficult job and no one will ever do it perfectly.

This is one of those cases where I think ref should have stopped it before there was even a knockdown. Souza was eating heavyweight bombs. When you’re dealing with HWs I think you gotta consider how powerful their punches are. A lot of those shots would have put someone else’s lights out.

watching this fight reminds me how dumb brian campbell's point was about gane showing he's willing to go for the finish vs tuivasa. gane will poke and point fight but as soon as he notices you're hurt, he's going for the end. same thing he did to lewis, same thing he did to tuivasa.
He will go for the finish. All fighters try to go for a finish. To say they aren't trying to is so inconsiderate and disrespectful to both fighters.
