  • Likely Suspects:
    Odonata (Dragonflies and Damselflies)
    Ephemeroptera (Mayflies)
    Plecoptera (Stoneflies)
    Hemiptera: Gelastocoridae (Toad Bugs)
    Nepidae (Water Scorpions)
    Belostomatidae (Giant Water Bugs)
    Naucoridae (Creeping Water Bugs)
    Notonectidae (Backswimmers)
    Corixidae (Waterboatmen)
    Veliidae and Gerridae (Water Skimmers)
    Coleoptera (Beetles)
    Haliplidae (Crawling Water Beetles)
    Dytiscidae (Diving Beetles)
    Gyrinidae (Whirlygig Beetles)
    Hydrophilidae (Water Scavenger Beetles)
Note: Recording conditions were not optimal. Let me know if you have trouble hearing things (x.x)
How to collect aquatic things! I couldn't find any Water Scorpions (Nepidae) or Giant Water Bugs (Belostomatidae) but you'd be able to get them too theoretically.

This is a cool video.. I've made a few small ponds (5x2x2) in my yard this year and I'm lucking to beef up the wildlife, this gave me a few ideas on collecting some insect larvae, thanks..

Nice video. I'm a crazy fly fisherman and fly tyer. Life member of chestnut ridge chapter of trout unlimited. And a permitted macroinvertebrate sampler. You are well knowledged in this subject. Wish more young folks were half interested as yourself. Keep up the great work.
