@@karentranter7806 i think G.I Blues, Blue Hawaii and Follow that dream/Kid Galahad. Maybe they could have made a album with those 2 movies.
And in my opinion i think that Elvis was at his peak in those years 60-63. I also love 67-70 of course 😀😀😀

“Love Me Tender” and “Jailhouse Rock” didn’t have enough songs in the movie to make a full album so in the 90s they made a CD combining those 2 soundtracks on 1 CD. it made a perfect little companion piece to the “Loving You” soundtrack on CD.

Love the artwork on Elvis OST LP's including the beautiful 45 EP's. Never thought much of the songs on Easy Come, Easy Go. Recently tried playing them on guitar and bass and drumming with added vocal backings and this is what makes me appreciate the playing ,the vocals and the songs immensley. The musicians Elvis had were top such as Tiny Timbrell and Tommy Tedesco on guitar or Buddy Harman on drums. Great guitar riffs on many Elvis OSTs.

Thanks from one Elvis fan/vinyl collector to another for doing this soundtrack review. Just wanted to mention that concerning Love Me Tender, Paul McCartney once recounted in an interview watching the movie as a young boy and that when Elvis sang “We’re gonna move” it brought the house down. Thought your viewers might appreciate McCartney’s opinion on that song peace.

I'm still in shock at Fun in Acapulco been so low on your list Ed 🙃...
I would defo have had Love Me Tender in the lower half of your list ( never done a lot for me ) !!
The top 10 are you most important I guess ...
I would find it hard to rate and put the soundtrack albums in order of worst to best !!
My favourite 2 ...and go to soundtracks would allways be G I Blues and Blue Hawaii ...
Or Jailhouse Rock or King Creole...🤣
    Difficult decision...👍

Loved it Ed! Upon hearing the whole list this far I believe it's close to my opinion also. I believe the only difference we would have so far is clambake and it happened at the World's fair would be a lot closer to the front. Awesome video brother. Take care.

Okay... very interesting indeed... one thing I read recently is that Col. Parker wanted Elvis to focus on movies and soundtracks pretty much to the exclusion of other releases during the 1960s. Did it help or hinder his career???... I think the answer is fairly complex. And yes, I am looking forward to your top 10! 😊

Hey Ed, Don't know why you chose a countdown like this. Looks like you're not a fan of the Elvis movie soundtracks. Maybe because you had awesome parents who were Mega Elvis fans but a lot of people like me 1st memories of Elvis are the movies and the songs in them. Everything else was an added plus. Regardless it's interesting to see everyone's opinion. Thank you. Like me your #1 will be Kings Creole..lol

  • @samsimpsmusic

I still agree because of how many songs on each soundtrack I like. Also have you rank Elvis' movies yet?

  • @Jasonwho1974
    @Jasonwho1974 Před 2 lety +1

The mojority of the soundtracks were utter shite unfortunately & we all know Elvis's opinions on singing in movies. But trolling through all the mediocre shit of the soundtrack drivel there are hidden gems but being put next to probably the worst material ever recorded by any artist it no doubt takes the shine off them. Without a doubt the best soundtrack is King Creole as well as his best ever movie & I know it was Elvis's favourite 💯

To be truthful, to me there is only 10 at the most decent soundtracks. The title song like you say is the best but the rest of the songs are lame. Thanks for doing this list ,know you get a lot of grief from doing these. Take care.
