The Tarantula CZcams community Facebook page was origionally founded by Exotics Lair. I recieved my invite over 3 years ago by Tarantula Kat. Although the TYC page is rarely used anymore, I still consider myself a part of a close knit family of tarantula and exotic pet CZcamsrs!

Im super lucky that I have a garden with Brambel, Fern etc and the woods right at my doorstep, and dont need to worry about picking spots or toxic environments. Great vid Sam :)
I have an massive hedge in my back garden so that is a perfect supply!
Thank you for this! You are braver than me, filming in the woods! I feel like a foraging florist every week, and I love it!!
Great and informative video! I wouldn't have thought of fern and hawthorn as a food source.
Easy as that got a few snip it’s and no bugs on my eucalyptus Branches anymore! 😊
Great video Sam, been a bit nervous of venturing out of bramble eaters as that’s all I’ve ever kept, but you’ve shown how easy it is to find all these other things on a walk ☺️
Thanks for this. I asked about food in winter on your last live stream. Enjoying abundance of food currently. I always wash whatever I pick thoroughly.
My Black Beauties love the Hart's tongue fern that you see there, they're also partial to hawthorne petals as well. I have a vertical cold frame in my garden where I grow several woodland plants so that I don't have to go galavanting every week to feed them. I'm currently testing what plants the Black Beauties will eat as there isn't much information available on them, so far, pepper plants seem to be their favourite.
In the Country where they are found, they eat only Pepper plants
So cool I want a stick insect
Great video - very informative!
To reach stick insect nirvana, you must do a guide on how to grow their food, not just collect it.
:p
Awesome video as always mate, don't keep them myself , just mantis I keep as you know, but its always awesome learning about other insects 🙏😁!
Realy informative vidio, I have learnt a thing or two, and I love walking in the woods (looking for ants) and I enjoy anyone who sees nature for what it is.
AWESOME video Sam I do the same the deeper into the woods you get the edible Stick Insect food is safer
Man what a beautiful place! So much moss everywhere
Love the intro! You are the best 😂
Great helpful vid, I've got Mcleays Spectre an phyllium philippium which I've got feeding on bramble, could you do a breakdown vid on which species that can eat which plants 👍
Hi, the abundant plant of the ground I think is called enchanters nightshade
Great video
iv had my 3 week old lonchodiodes stick insect for 5 days now and im sure it has not eaten, iv put bramble in and cut off the edgs of the leaves but no nibble signs yet
Great video, have you given your tarantulas a way?
Sam this looks very much like Hainult forest? would be interested if it is! - Thanks Luke
Can Australian stick insects any lettuce? Only as a supplement.
Great Video Sam! Just like to point that I've been feeding my Eurycantha Calcarata and Jungle Nymphs Holly for about a year now and they seem to be thriving off it. I haven't seen any information regarding stick insects eating Holly so I'd thought that I'd try it out. Small nymphs seem to struggle as it's quite tough to eat, so I just feed them bramble instead until their big enough.
Hi Sam, one of my stick insect eggs has just hatched but the egg is attached to the leg - is there anything I should do or will it come off on it’s own ? I’ve just collected bramble and privet for my 3 adults. Thanks for your great information videos!
So I’m getting some soon. I’ve read that this can happen quite a bit, the thing I read said the wait until your stick insect sheds and then the egg will come off then if it hasn’t already. If you try and pull it off you can damage the leg. :D hope I helped and have a good day.
I started to grow my own last year great until it gets that yellow stuff under the leaves
