Great video Sam, been a bit nervous of venturing out of bramble eaters as that’s all I’ve ever kept, but you’ve shown how easy it is to find all these other things on a walk ☺️

Thanks for this. I asked about food in winter on your last live stream. Enjoying abundance of food currently. I always wash whatever I pick thoroughly.

My Black Beauties love the Hart's tongue fern that you see there, they're also partial to hawthorne petals as well. I have a vertical cold frame in my garden where I grow several woodland plants so that I don't have to go galavanting every week to feed them. I'm currently testing what plants the Black Beauties will eat as there isn't much information available on them, so far, pepper plants seem to be their favourite.

To reach stick insect nirvana, you must do a guide on how to grow their food, not just collect it.

Great Video Sam! Just like to point that I've been feeding my Eurycantha Calcarata and Jungle Nymphs Holly for about a year now and they seem to be thriving off it. I haven't seen any information regarding stick insects eating Holly so I'd thought that I'd try it out. Small nymphs seem to struggle as it's quite tough to eat, so I just feed them bramble instead until their big enough.

Hi Sam, one of my stick insect eggs has just hatched but the egg is attached to the leg - is there anything I should do or will it come off on it’s own ? I’ve just collected bramble and privet for my 3 adults. Thanks for your great information videos!

So I’m getting some soon. I’ve read that this can happen quite a bit, the thing I read said the wait until your stick insect sheds and then the egg will come off then if it hasn’t already. If you try and pull it off you can damage the leg. :D hope I helped and have a good day.
