You do SUCH a good job of explaining and I love that you are so sweet to your horse! For horses who do not take the bit easily, a trick to teach them is to put a piece of carrot or apple in your left hand below the bit so they open gladly - this helps with horses who have had their teeth banged by prior owners as well as newbies. Keep doing this! And consider a career in teaching - you are a natural!!

I am a beginner and I find your videos very helpful. I tack up western and was unsure and a little confused on how to tie the cinch, and why you don’t pull the cinch tight enough for you to ride when you first tack up. What do you do in western? You don't do jumps or dressage. Isn't it boring just doing the gaits and nothing else?
Emily Clarke you can actually do a lot in western, barrel racing, pole bending, flat work can be the same as in dressage depending on how the horse is trained. Endurance can be done in western and that is very fun, just normal trail rides are great fun as well.

actually, there’s like 300 different english AND western riding disciplines. you can do like tiny raised poles in a western saddle too, as long as it’s not all the time.

Your horse is just 😍 but shouldn't your saddle be up towards her withers a bit, not trying to be rude at all it's a great video. Just looks like the saddle is a bit far back. Plz don't get mad.
+Roudy Rocky Thank you! The saddle is in the correct place, but the pad could be put back a little more. It's hard to do with the kavallerie pad because it sticks.

You don’t need a bit if you have a good connection with your horse..
Other than that everything is good. I personally don’t like bits anymore because they are annoying for the horse.
Taylee Summer it matters on the horse not your opinion! I used to ride a horse that would not except a mechanical, side pull or under cross (forgot what it is called) When the horses doesn’t respond to a bit less bridle it can be dangerous. Bits don’t really hurt the horse hackamores are meant to cause pressure and pain to the horses nose and face which in fact can hurt the horse. I would also stay off of Raleigh’s channel she mostly miss informs people and young riders about bits and bit less.
Žøę Wįñdâwñ it doesn’t matter because a bit is not needed at all. I dont use a bit and I know people that don’t because what is the point on having one? So that a metal piece can stick in their mouth and be pulled on? There isn’t! I’m speaking on behalf of the horse and your speaking on behalf of a person who knows nothing about how the horse feels!👍🏼 horses don’t like it and they show many signs of pain and yet you still believe that they like it. 😂 put a metal bit in your mouth and have someone pull hard on it.
Connection with the animal is key honey. I dont know how old you are but please keep your negativity somewhere else.
