Since there is no guarantee that tourists will be there when they are hungry to give them food, it is better to let them continue honing their survival skills out there in the wild by hunting for food themselves.

Why would such an elephant go eat branches and leaves of trees anymore after it has discovered that by blocking the highway it can get sweet bananas?
