Bigbang's journey was amazing. They have a genius songwriter/composer in GD. That alone can't be touched by other group. Popularity come and go but the legacy will always remain.
Thats what i keep telling other new K poppers...that xyz groups today are popular, they may have awards, western fans but they can never compete with GD in case of impact and legacy.
He is the King of K Pop for a reason.
People don't really know bigbang because social media was not really in use then and they hardly go to shows or interviews to promote yet they are still big. New artist have big fandoms because many people use alot of social media now.

Believe me, I was an army from 2014 -2018, but the kind of impact when bigbang used to create when they release a song is nothing compared to today's popular groups. Not a particular group, almost every group. And today many idols write and produce songs but the difference is that the songs that bigbang members produced especially gd were super hits. Since you mentioned bts, Is there a song that bts members produced were literally know to whole Korea. Bigbang have that. Not so long ago Koreans selected bigbang 'lies ' as song of the decade.That song was released years ago. Today many groups have great achievements and popularity. And they deserve it. But how many are successful as musicians ? When it comes to music( that includes lyrics, composing, arrangements, singing, live performance)bigbang is truly unparallel and unique.
This really made me emotional ty. I know K-pop just recently and this man is a legend already for so many years.👏👏 i guess if you leave a good legacy, you will always be remembered🙏

I somehow just remember knowing him before I even knew kpop was a thing way back in like 2012. Back in the day when I didn't know about his career I thought he was a top socialite like Paris Hilton or the Kardashians, you know typical household names that you just know of because they seem to be that high-up in the society ladder, the type of people that you'd see attend prestigious shows and posing with Karl Lagerfeld. Of course the main difference is that Paris Hilton or the Kardashians aren't much without capitalizing off their parents, G Dragon made it up there by himself with his raw talent and determination. You bet I instantly became a fan of him once I started to find out more about his career, what a true icon.
No matter what happens G-Dragon will always be the pioneer and the King of K-pop you are so original and authentic "Kwon Jiyong" 👑💛

I hate it when people talk trash about him. It's fine if you don't like his music but don't be disrespectful! Watch this or the full documentary and see how much hard work, pain and tears he's had to put in. I honestly don't know how he lasted through all that pressure and hardships at such a young age. I am grateful he did because kpop would be so different without him, but I really hope he can find his own happiness too! I mean truly be happy! Because while fame and money and fans are good, that does not equal true happiness necessarily. I hope he will have more freedom and be together with a person that loves the real him, not just the stage image, and makes him happy! Wish him all the best! He is such a good soul!
