Vivek Ramaswamy: We’ve Sacrificed True Diversity in the Name of Diversity

- Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy sits down to discuss the importance of engaging with opposing views, the state of American political discourse, and the impact of identity politics. Growing up as the “odd man out” in most rooms he entered, he quickly learned the value of having your views challenged. Vivek shares stories from his upbringing, his perspective on how true diversity drives productive debate, and how his role as a father inspires his public life.

Hello friends, and families... In the name of keeping you all on your toes, we're following up my conversation with Bill de Blasio with his political polar opposite, Vivek Ramaswamy. This conversation, like our last, is part of a broader project on debate in America that's still in oven. I didn't have as much time as I would like to do my usual long-form (long-winded?) exploration, but have at it!
Anchor ⚓ Baby Vivek is why birthright citizenship is a problem 😢
Vivek was born to legal residents.
@@NancyUlrich Anchor ⚓ Baby Vivek's dishonest non-US 🇮🇳 citizen parents were in the US on a work visa when they abused the system and had Anchor ⚓ Baby Vivek 🤯 the bigger question is why do you discriminate against Anchor ⚓ Babies like Anchor ⚓ Baby Vivek
Vivek is the most hopeful political figure I've ever seen in my lifetime! Can you even imagine having a principled intellectual in the White House
Yeah love the guy.
You had that person before. Ron Paul. Look how far he got.
EXACTLY.................WE HAVE TREMENDOUS LOVE AND RESPECT FOR VIVEK.
@@colintanmh RON PAUL IS A WONDERFUL PERSON. HOPEFULLY AMERICA HAS GROWN SINCE HIM AND NOW IS AWAKENING TO ACCEPT AN INTELLIGENT, MORALLY UPRIGHT INDIVIDUAL.
@@colintanmh"you mean the Russian controlled agent of the Kremlin?" /S unfortunately that's what the system slanders against the likes of politicians like Paul that would fight for Americans in DC
As a family libertarians m we will vote for trump if Vivek is the VP, Vivek is once in lifetime kind of leader and talent, he is superior intelligence and should be positioned to be president in 2028
CORRECT. MANY DEMOCRATS HAD REGISTERED AS REPUBLICANS ONLY BECAUSE OF VIVEK. LET US SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
Vivek is ok but Trump is a mess. No Trump will drag Vivek down. Best to stay away from Trump.
@@tinawynn8973 No he won't. Vivek is too smart to be dragged down by anyone. He is focused, brilliant, and has clear concepts of the path forward.
@@brettcantrell8650 , too late.
@@tinawynn8973 how so?
I would have voted for Vivek. He wouldn't have been able to accomplish everything he wanted, but then no one can. Vivek can think on his feet and he loves this country.
Same!
Vivek is an incredible human being. He is not an ethnicity but a true American. I can relate to his loyalty and love for this great country. A true American hero
Certainly true, however I bet he could have dismantled the administrative state without any requirement for legislative cooperation.
@@isaiahdesta_ he is a law and constitution scholar. Trump needs him as VP and hope he does take him.
Same here
He is an honorable individual. He is not afraid of discourse. Why can’t people see his honesty?
smart guy, great interview !! Diversity of thought, what a great concept
Thanks, Pete!
Vivek used “ennui.” He’s such a vocab beast!
The only other public figure I ever heard use that word extemporaneously was Christopher Hitchens. Back when he was... breathing.

We need people like this guy. Please bring them forward. Thanks.
Who will bring him forward? The same "powers that be" who have brought forward the previous presidents, representatives and senators?
How much more optimistic would we be about this election if it was Vivek vs RFK? Real debate on real issues between people who disagree on a lot but agree on more and can admit it. The fact that he didn't do better in the primaries shows just how much of a cult of personality our politics have become.
Exactly! Having a RFK Jr and Vivek debate would've made the heads of the old political status quo powers in DC spin lol! The mainstream media would have no idea how to approach it to report it.
If vivek ever becomes the president or serves in the trump administration, bro would be advising the advisers.😂
we picked Trump or Biden over this?
he wasn't on the political scene then, but he didn't do as well as Haley and DeSantis in the Iowa Caucus, and that was disappointing
AMERICA WANTS RFK TO DEBATE!
A great conversation Vivek 🇺🇸
People of indian origin, especially Hindus are a huge asset to any country. They are peace loving, believe in democratic values and work hard to have success inspite of odds they face like most immigrants.
Unfortunately you guys talk about Caste system.
A system that is created by your ancestors to serve your colonialism

I guess India got lucky have tons of them.
Vivek for office to truly save America!
There is no intellectual equal to Vivek in the Republican field for Pres. None. I am gutted that he was not more highly prized.
I’m very lucky, my daughter goes to the 6th best private school in the US. So grateful for that. Love my daughter. She’s 6 and she’s using 3D printers, crazy.

Such a good discussion 👌
Thank you gentlemen for such a wonderful & informative show.
What truly ground us is reality, even when we can not fully understand this reality
Good conversation.
No matter how one spins it, diversity is not a strength. We need solidarity to culture.
Smart guest
You should have discussion with RFKjr. He is very open to this type of thinking.
We're working on it.
I thought so also. But it appears to me he flip flops on his key stances depending on who he’s talking to (right or left leaning).
Beautiful
This CUBAN-BORN does highly recommend Vivek Ramaswamy for VP of our great President Donald J. Trump🇺🇸🇨🇺

Tracy Chapman talking about revolution America Last Trumpet Call!
By going on say opposition platforms like cnn, he can present to the indoctrinated viewers an alternative "truth" which they would otherwise not hear.
He was able to present a contrast to those viewers, whilst most of the presenters went berserk at him, he calmly broadcast his logical argument with facts.
This undoubtedly caused a lot of people to rethink the accepted narrative.
Agreed.
Nation states are a very modern invention, no more than a few hundred years. Patriotism is even more recent. What did people do before that? Just lived happily I guess.

school should be K-10 not K-12 (it is hard for many to think of that because we have all been molded to believe people should be housed during the day in schools until the age of 18) and college if you go should me 3 years max!
What is this “Overton window” but a new way of saying thinking outside the box/square?
Well, the difference would be that the Overton Window describes the range of acceptable ideas to an entire governed public, whereas in-the-box describes linear rhetoric and out-of-box describes non-linear. It's not the same thing - you can have a non-linear approach to a subject within the Overton Window or outside it.
For example, we're at a disadvantage to the French. A non-linear out-of-box solution to improving relations with France might be to, instead of being nice to the French one were to antagonise someone the French dislike more than they dislike you, expecting that this would reciprocate relations. A non-Overton solution to the same problem might be genociding the French so there's no longer an issue. The former is non-linear but politically acceptable, the other is very linear but politically unacceptable.
That work for ya?
@@Belzediel nope. Scratches my head in total confusion. Must be the box window 🪟
@@robertholland7558 ..OK, then, maybe this isn't an area you need to be spending your resources...
But, OK, let's give it another go. The box is about how you solve problems. Let us say that the problem is that some of the staff at work are complaining that the office is too cold.
Now, the problem is the complaints, right, you don't care, your office is air conditioned to your preferences, but you don't like your workforce complaining.
The linear, direct, simple solution to this problem is to turn the heating up until they stop complaining. Right? It's direct, it's expected, it's uncomplicated, it is IN THE BOX.
But if we instead decide to come in after work and change the numbers on the heating dial so it merely looks like the thermostat is set higher, we might well see a reduction in the number of complaints because a number of people are going to believe that you have turned up the heat. The same solution - reduction in complaints, but you have found a non-linear solution, you have gone OUT OF THE BOX.
OK? The box is whether or not your solution is direct or oblique. Straight or sneaky, perhaps.
It was, once, acceptable for teachers to cane their pupils as a disciplinary option. That was perfectly acceptable as a stand point. Then, it became fringe, then unpopular, then wrong, and now, it would be a joke to raise it as something to consider in schools. It used to be within the Overton Window, and now it is outside.
Suggesting the return of caning would not be thinking outside the box because hitting kids with sticks when they do things you don't like is about as simple as it gets, but it would be thinking outside the window.
The Window is what the public consider to be reasonable subject, the Box is about how you approach a problem. The only thing they have in common at all, is both feature something square to be either within or without.
If we instead called it thinking outside of the glass and the Overton Underpants it might be clearer
Hopefully you'll have twigged,. but if not, I don't know what to say except, if these concepts are not distinguishable to you, perhaps politics isn't your bailiwick.
Lou Valentino is another man that needs to be brought out in the open to answer his questions about politics.
Can’t work out whether this guy is legit or not. He’s very polished. Very informed. Very articulated. But is he bought? Does he have his own AIPAC guy?
According to my research he is the real deal. Just look into him.
According to me, he’s the most legit guy who fought against the system like Trump or some other individual candidates who wants three letter agencies to be suspended.. even goes to the white supremacist channel and dare to debate. He’s not a politician yet.. but he’s smart. He’s intelligent he’s anti-war.
Can we actually get the left back to come and debate, the run rom it! AOC WONT DEBATE, OMAR WONT DEBATE, SCHUMER WONT DEBATE!
I have been a supporter of Vivek for a while now, but I only wish he didn’t imply that those of us that don’t believe in God will fall for believing in some other nonsense. I, and many others like me, operate with enlightenment values and are great members of our civilized society. We don’t buy into the identity politics or victimhood narratives that have become too prevalent as of late. Believe in a god or gods if you want/can, but demonizing those of us that don’t does not help in the goal of uniting our country.
Diversity is another redefined weasel word. What it means is every business must hire a diversity officer, who tells the company who they must hire in specific departments and what they must pay them….regardless of whether they are qualified. Those DEI’s then proceed to multiply in the company, making more and more decisions for the company. DEI’s implant a government democrat WOKE ‘microchip’/vision on what direction the company will go in, including what products or services it will produce…think Disney. The company is now a Democrat WOKE government entity. All media companies are run by government implant DEI’s. DEI’s do not go into the company as secretaries….they start as the Trojan horses that fill the companies with government workers. They are poison to any business or government.
Cut your hair Vic
I found this engaging until Vivek referred to heterosexual "cis" people. Sorry, but I am not a cis anything. I believe in thousands of years of objective science that has always stated that there are two genders. Adopting terms that are counter to my belief out of respect for someone only allows them to disrespect me. Hard pass.

@@KrisFrazer2222 there is always a choice. They are a tiny minority, we rule by sheer number, but sadly we are allowing each other to be divided. In unity there is strength, that is our choice.
“they” are our enemy. Only when we put our differences aside can we defeat them, are we willing and prepared to make that choice? Perhaps once “ they” have been defeated our differences no longer matter all that much. We can do our own thing and leave each other alone.
