Thank you very much ! Used to love MT. I had to go over to AES in Orlando to pick it up until waldenbooks started carrying it. Thanks for watching !

Waiting to see the flip down door for the Flinstones bird to fly out to the other radio and repeat the message... nevermind; it's a scanner only. LOVE this vintage Japanese stuff !! Thanks for sharing !!

You are welcome ! The vintage Japanese stuff is really legit. I spent the afternoon digging through another esoteric collection of stuff after picking up a compartment latch today. Want to know what the aftermath of a 4D battery going pop goes the weasel in an enclosed aluminum compartment looks like ? The cliff's notes is it is not desirable. However it did lead to seeing not only an interesting collection of stuff and perhaps the most legit example of slide out design in mobile command vehicle design. Thanks for watching Terry I hope all is well with you !

That’s a pretty cool find! I remember a few scanners had wide and narrow FM if the had the broadcast band reception. Most of them weren’t manually switched. Thanks for sharing. Informative as always. 73!

I became interested in the JIL SX xxx series back in the day, after seeing an ad in Monitoring Times. This was well before the interwebs, so I began my primitive, labor intensive work to find one. Ultimately, over the years I was able to score a SX 100, as well as two SX 400s, and the RF 1030 (100 khz-30mhz) converter, the RF 5080 (500-890mhz) converter, and the ACB 300 ( antenna control module).
... I'm STILL trying to figure out how to work the hf converter lol, but as I live in the south Jersey area, these guys keep me abreast on the milair activity in the tri-state area and Atlantic Ocean. While not the most sensitive units, I can receive pretty well on it with a discone & amplifier, and have the primary UHF AM milair freqs programmed. Like you, I'm always looking for some kind of "unusual" radio, and will be keeping these in my 'collection' for a very long time (or until my wife cleans out my shack). Thanks for sharing your review, 73.

Super cool! I've never seen this scanner before. There is one on eBay now for a mere $564.95 if any viewers really really want one.

Apparently they are pretty rare here. From what I gather JIL was a Dominion equivalent of Radio Shack . This fellow is from Australia and has the most content on YT of the SX-400 czcams.com/video/zeiRXeyCDG0/video.html
      Thanks for watching !

Feature rich is right! Love this kind of stuff. The only real odd ball I've got is a KLM 2 Meter all mode 10 watts max. Got a 4 pin mic I've got to rewire to make it go, but it does transmit.

I had the Yaesu FT690 which is a 6m all mode when I was a teen. Loved that radio and wish I still had it. Stay tuned for more cool stuff. I scored a ton of it. Thanks for watching !
