It's been a hobby for the last 10 years, before that I was in a Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan cover band. I worked at it pretty hard for years and got burnt out on it. I didn't pick up a guitar for months after we stopped. What I'm doing now is fun with no commitments or boundaries, I play whatever I feel like
fillitwithcheese Yea but not many songs have rhythms like this song or any other megadeth songs .It takes alot of practice ,the rhythm doesnt even line up time wise with the lyrics its fucked .
fillitwithcheese anyone can pull the symphony :P (or at least talk will playing it if he cant sing it).. the holy wars is indeed a bizarre rhythm to sing will playing it because the lyrics are sung "randomly" over it.. you must play the part completely in autopilot mode to pull that off which is impressive
still too damn impressive nc mate... if you can play that rhythm and sing is too damn impressive. ive learnt she wolf but i cant sing while playing the intro rhythm i need to pay attention at the pattern to pull it off... rock on and soloing is fun just because you can improvise with buddies... try it out it is worth it
Yet another example of "don't judge a book by it's cover". Your not just a guy that fixes helicopters, are ya...as if that isn't already pretty cool. I love Megadeth and all I can say is wow
It's a pretty fickle industry, I wouldn't be doing it if I haven't done it for the past 20 years. There's a lot of responsibility for the wage. There's a saying I hear a lot - You want to know how to make a small fortune in aviation? Start with a large one Sorry man, I'm tired
LambChopper678 Fair enough. I was going to go to school for electrical engineering/avionics, etc but it turns out I'm red-green colorblind. It's limiting me with what I can do with my "Aviation Science and Tech" (Airport Management) degree, but I'm still hoping I can wrench on some kind of aircraft. Gotta work with the cards you're dealt.
The guitar tone for megadeth is hard to get out of a stomp box or effect pedal. The guts of the tone is the Marshall. All I run on top is an mxr 6 band and digital reverb for the solos on top of a jcm 800
Its very close to the original track. few at youtube have the courage to play without any backing music from the original tapes, and i am not only taking about Megadeth musics, other genres too. Those who do it don't make the cut, unlike yours. Keep it up!
That's where you're wrong man, I'm a firm believer that it's only 5% talent and 95% practise. I know there are freaks out there that run my theory into the ground but for the rest of us it's true. I remember Marty Friedman in an interview said anyone can do what I do if they practise enough, I know he was pulling my chain but I did take a little from it
+Aabhishek Bedi Varma arent you hating on people for not liking a video? The guy is a great guitar player but you could argue its not the most accurate rendition and without headphones i couldnt hear any bass.
The playing is awesome (goes w/out saying), but what captured my attention is the quality of the audio - sounds great! And I mean that based on hundreds of vids I've watched on CZcams - very, very few have this much clarity in the sound spectrum, and I'm listening via some cheap ass Walmart purchased hp speakers, lol
P.S. - so this was basically an app (Amplitube) you recorded with? What, exactly, was the setup? (cables , etc..) Just through a laptop and good monitor speakers?
***** Thanks mate, I did a tutorial and walkthrough on the gear I use and how I go about making my vids. Amplitube is an iPhone app but it is a desktop program, the app is dumbed down a little.
"I know this isn't perfect but it's the best I can do on a Sunday afternoon". Dude, this sounds perfect too me. Way much better than I can play guitar on a Sunday. Congrats!
Brian Belk I can't even pick a favourite song from this album. I know its either Rust in Peace, Hangar 18 or This one. They are all so great. The others on this album kick ass too but those three stood out to me.
Romulan Rancor Ellefson actually began as a finger picker and has done some songs that way, but he said once Megadeth went to the speed and intensity, a pick was the way to keep up.
This just proves that at guitar riffing nobody can mess with Mr Mustaine, this song is the highest point in thrash metal, this is a real Badass-guitar-riffs song. What it is really amazing is how the fuck can Dave sing while playing this along, its simply insane!!! Good work dude, I have to comeback and see it again.
I guess this song requires tremendous guitar skills (especially the solo), and the fact that your cover is not perfect but pretty close, makes this a very impressive performance. Job well done Lamb ;)
Phenomenal playing. Glad I found your channel by accident, so to speak. I love Megadeth and Dave has been an idol of mine since I met him back in the 80s as a kid. You play just as good as Dave does. Awesome!
If this cover sounds amazing, imagine how amazing the brains behind this composition must be...Marty Friedman and Dave Mustaine are seriously the best when it came to composing killer riffs
ahhhh, one of my all-time favorites. Jam on man and I'll keep watching. I used to play a bit but school is just too much so I just watch these days and dream. keep rockin'
Thanks mate, I love chasing tones. I try to add gain through the use if eq's over pushing distortion. It's one of the things I like about megadeth. Simple is most often better
Since I'm a drummer and have no clue how hard it is to play guitar and I imagine it's quite a challenge and well I think you're amazing and it deserved a subscriber. It takes skill to almost perfectly replicate the work of Dave Mustaine.
I can say from experience that this was my dream song to learn how to play when i first started playing guitar, ill be playing for two years up in September, and it took me this long to just play the rhythm parts.
+Objection202 i know everyone has different learning speeds but after a few months of playing I learned this song on bass and guitar. it's my go to song when practicing
i am speachless!! you are such an amazing musician keep it up. If i closed my eyes i would swear i was at a megadeth concert. Thanx for sharing this from one guitarist to another you ROCK!!
Split screen would have been better and bass was inaudible...... But overall great
Před 4 lety
Jackson basses are okay. I used to own a USA made Kramer bass. What happened to it is a long, sad story I had no control over. Same issue involving my Peavey TNT 150 watt bass amp. Now I'm playing Ibanez basses with Hartke amps.
I gotta admit that it's almost an absolutely perfect song. not only for the music, but for the song writing in it but also for the time in which it was released moments before the Gulf War. Dave was definitely tuned in on what was going on in the world. For me personally, this was the first song off the album i tackled and i played it wrong for a year before i was able to get tab for it. Killer job dude...
Excellent job! I'm extremely impressed! You played it effortlessly! I struggled with that whole album for quite a while! Lol! I've always been a huge fan of Megadeth! I've seen the live quite a few times! Nice work! Thanks for posting! I enjoyed it a lot!

how in the fucking earth dave was playing and singing that song high???? do his hands have mind of their one or sth???

+Parianos euwest Mustaine is the best rhythm guitarist thrash ever had. Basically retaught Marty Friedman how to play when he first hired him.
This guy is a Megadeth fan to the bones, same guitars, bass, amps, clothes and we can't see but the pedals probably too jajaja ¡Awesome rock on!
+RoNLuR Lol, thanks man
LambChopper678 When i cant figure out something on this song i just come here and watch this
he was the megadeth marshall ministack to
Not only Megadeth fun. On the left hand side on the wall he has Dimebag's guitar from PanterA DIME ML FAR BEYOND DRIVEN LTD RUN 100 PC.
hell yeah

Avionics and wires never grabbed me much. I like working on my guitars but that's it.

Not gonna lie that last solo around 5:40 was one of the best covers (clear.clean) that I've seen fairplay
Thanks mate, appreciated
Much agreed. TBH it was almost clearer than the album version. Great work man.
Holy shit Dave Mustaine has some complex string work on this song, great work !!
bluebeltatt The most skilled metal musician out there imo.
I like the fact that you are playing the respective guitar brands. Jackson, Jackson, Dean. Nice details!
...and Dimebag's Dean on the wall.
Listened to this since high school and I never realized how crazy and difficult this was to play.
That breakdown at 2:50 is my favorite part of the song . Just blends in so nicely

When your this fucking bad ass who needs the track?
It's awesome how you showed this with no backing track in the final mix, it makes this cover unique
Behind Iommi, Mustaine is easily Metals most important riff writer
Ryan Brown
James Hetfield?
Ryan Brown lol. No.
Elias Tuccro why ?
C’mon fanboy, James smokes Dave in downpicking speed, articulation and complexity of riffs
@@dizzle49er Haha complexity? What planet are u on?
Damn, gotta love that gold edition whale fin RR Jackson reissue. Glad to see someone using a good guitar, not just storing it for eBay 2025
More cowbell !
it's just not the same without Nick menza drumming
How the fuck does this video have 88 dislikes?? Sore haters!! You sir are a beast! Absofuckinlutely loved it

+fallat1sthurdle lets see you do it smartass
Fallat would probably struggle with 2 strings :)
I just purchased the Dean with United Abominations design for £300 great sound
+fallat1sthurdle if you couldn't hear any bass you need better speakers because I can hear it loud and clear with my system
DJ Shadowfire who cares
people dislike this video?! mad they cant play this good.
This video never gets old. Technically perfect in my eyes. Well played Sir.
cghern75 Thank you mate, glad you enjoy it
It's not, but close.
@@aapozz1492 It’s not technically perfect in his eyes? 😂😂
As a Megadeth fan for over 25 years, this video brings me a special kind of joy. Thank you!
Excellent cover of a song I’ll NEVER get tired of hearing.
You make this easy, but is so dificult :D

dude you rock. straight up. the best recreation I've heard yet...
That was by far the most badass thing I've seen on youtube to date. Bravo man.. Bravo.
"I know this isn't perfect but it's the best I can do on a Sunday afternoon". Dude, this sounds perfect too me. Way much better than I can play guitar on a Sunday. Congrats!
Bass could be a bit louder
that's the problem with bass. it's never loud enough😂
And Justice For Peace..
@@gordonfreeman694 actually the bass was unhearble only on this video,if u see the clip the first thing u can hear is the bass pretty loud
Really?! Im sorry was his covering of all 3 instruments not as good as yours?!lol.
@@darthj_der7447 it's just his opinion.
love your covers man always spot on!
Best of cover of the song I've seen so far. Great Job!
Well done, mate! The best cover I've ever seen.
Dave Mustaine Hello me, meet the real me!
That was awsome and I agree that this is the greatest Megadeth song if not the greatest metal song ever wrote and u killed it!!!!!
Tornado of souls
Rattlehead
Angel of death I think is the greatest metal song ever
Brian Belk I can't even pick a favourite song from this album. I know its either Rust in Peace, Hangar 18 or This one. They are all so great. The others on this album kick ass too but those three stood out to me.
peace sells is their best album
Dude. What you did here is BEAUTIFUL. Pure Music. Congratz.
thank you for responding , I've been subbed for awhile and I enjoy all of your megadeth covers
Is say the best Holy Wars cover on CZcams. Bravo
absolutely spectacular. clean up those chops
One of my favorite songs of all time. You really make those guitars shine. Amazing work, man.
Goosebumps, man! Excellent Job, enjoyed that muchly
This track is an example of Thrash Metal guitar playing at its finest, and you nailed it man. Rock on!!
finger picking this song on bass is a pain. anybody else know these feels?
Romulan Rancor Ellefson actually began as a finger picker and has done some songs that way, but he said once Megadeth went to the speed and intensity, a pick was the way to keep up.
Romulan Rancor I can't play this song with a pick, personally I need to play it with my fingers to get it right.
Robert Crawshaw I mess it up on pick as well xD
Sometimes you really have no choice but to use a pick
Romulan Rancor it's not that hard bro, just keep working up the endurance
Congratz! I am a huge fan of this song, and, I was impressed! Very hard solos, you did great!
hands down the best cover of holy wars I've ever seen. you sir are a beast!

Pick up a guitar and just try to play like 3 notes. You'll get a feel for how tough a song like this is to pull off almost perfectly.
I might attempt to play guitar, it's a challenge but I will try.
I can say from experience that this was my dream song to learn how to play when i first started playing guitar, ill be playing for two years up in September, and it took me this long to just play the rhythm parts.

Okay, you absolutely nailed Dave's solo, that was actually better than Dave when he plays it half the time.
CONGRATULATIONS MAN THIS IS SO AWESOME
I absolutely love this song and cover bro! great stuff!!
What do you call that like squealing sound at 0:54 anyone?
Sorry...I'm not hearing what you're talking about...are you sure it's at 0:54?
Zen Razor could be a 'Pinch Harmonic'
ErizotDread Yeah definitely it's around 0:53 that same beat that he uses.
it's just a higher note, 9th fret on the G string
The solo at 3:35 is a real bitch to play.

if you come to think of it. its kind of an intermidiate song
in rythm part that is
The riffs are harder to play than Metallica's solos
megadeths riffs are just faster than metallica's riffs but metallicas solos are fast
lance uvas men, the solos of megadeth also very fast, shut up
pinedita08 i did not say they were slow!

You did such a phenomenal job and the tone works so well that I feel like I'm listening to the actual song minus vocals and drums. Great job.
