Some of the younger guys are into the "German, Italian and British" supercars with all the high tech gizmos. If they only knew how great these C-3's really are. I've had my 1969 L-71 427/435 Corvette for 55 years. I'm 77 years old and still drive it at least four days a week. The motor has 185k and is still going strong. No cheap electronic relays, sensors, solenoids or any failing parts to go wrong. The car still looks like a car for the public roads and not a race car for the track. Whenever I pull into a gas station, somebody comes over and wants to talk about the car. That's been going on for almost ten years!! So, say what you want about those "supercars", there is really nothing that matches the fun you have driving an old Corvette. Just look at the car in this video. The body style is timeless. It's beautiful. It's great to have a lot of choices but I still choose my '69 all day long.

I tell myself I’m not that much of a Corvette guy, then I see something like this and go all weak in the knees. I guess I’m a Corvette guy after all! This is incredible; a total bad to the bone beast. Loud, rude, nasty, perfect. You can tell it begs to be driven hard. I love it.

I dont know anybody that hates the c3, but I do know a lot of guys that dont like the c4.
The C3 set the basic shape of Corvettes to come right up to the C7. And that's the way it should have stayed. You don't see Porsche messing with the basic shape of the 911.
Who the hell told you that? No one "hates the C3." Like everything else horsepower just went to shit after 1974 and that's easily rectified.
Yeah I've heard this argument before, but like the man said more power available now than ever "easily rectified". Also some meaty 18' to 20's to fit in those ginormous tubs
You are killing me! My second car was a '72 Stingray, and I drove the wheels off that sucker. Over 100K when it got wrecked (By my Sister). Absolutely killer build. Maybe someday I'll come back around for another one, more like this one!

I see that blue fbody, partial to that year cause I had a 92. So glad Detroit speed makes parts for it. Seen that one on Hoonigan before. Can't wait for that episode guys. This year corvette is kinda slept on but I remember the stingray from the Corvette Summer movie. Not everybody updates it right, but Detroit Speed once again...

This is EXACTLY what I’m planning on doing with a c3 once I get my engineering degree and have some income flowing in, except I’m going to be going for 650-700 hp with a custom aero kit, and possibly a custom chassis

Been in absolute LOVE with the C-3 my entire life. I was born in '72 so they hold a special place. Growing, up a neighbor had a '78 Pace Car so that had an influence but the ONE that kicked me in the teeth was a beat to hell Burgundy '76. Wasn't built. Had a couple of chunks missing along the bottom. It had been driven hard and put away wet more times than you could count. Don't know if it was just the potential I saw or my love of underdogs but I have wanted a '76 ever since. Not a '75. Not a '77. Gotta be a '76.
The cars that DS builds are on another level. Show and go. At lsfest now looking to see what they brought.

I grew up working on a 1960 C1 Corvette Conv’t with a 327 swapped in, im hunting for an early 70s C3 now to do a similar build to this except an 454LSX with ITB’s

Arguably, the most vicious 'Vettes are the '67, '68, and '69 L88 Vettes. This one pays homage to them with the hood scoop and flares, and with a somewhat simple small-block out muscles the L88 as well. Nice to see no turbo or blower.
