    After too many sport injuries this was just the ticket for my 1998 F250. The install took about 30 minutes. The written instructions could have been better but the video did the trick. Thanks for a high value low cost product.

    Why not realize that some people have busted up knees from WORKING HARD all their lives and not being lazy...and so something like this just helps us not feel pain. You are probably young based on your maturity level from this post.... but let me tell you....if you are young...enjoy it... getting old hurts.

      At 59, played ice hockey 15 years, installing elevators Still, and i climb mountains, still this is a great idea for getting in the back of the truck, i jump down but its nice to take a couple of steps up to climb in. Great Idea. Nice product with an amazing low price.

    Update on Ford Tailgate Step pricing: I'm getting a new F350 this year and the step is now priced at $375 and must be a factory order truck unless you can find something on the lot that has the step and fits your criteria for the rest of the truck and options. Personally I think I'm going with this since its also removable if needed for loading my ATV or lumber in the bed when I need to and still be able to climb into the bed. Great product and price.

    What about gooseneck trailer clearance? It looks to swing upwards at a height that will interfere with the trailer.

    Just installed on my F-150. Broke 4 drill bits drilling for the screws. Otherwise, ladder not hard to install. Truck must be Ford Tough.

  • @lucky2knight
    @lucky2knight Před 5 lety +1

    I found it much easier to throw away the sheet metal screws and use self tapping hex head screws instead. Save your drills. Also installing it was much to wabally so I used spacer fender washers between the joints. I personally didn't like it because the steps are not wide enough and it puts too much stress on only one end of the tailgate cable. I think it better if I would have bought a center mounted ladder to even out the load.

      ... but with a side mount you have the side of the truck to hold onto for security/safety!

      Dear Bob, The Quick Release Pins should be used when installing the Rocker Arms to the Mounting Plate. Please call Traxion at 479-474-3460 if you have any other questions.

    • @lucky2knight
      @lucky2knight Před 5 lety

      My instructions were bad too. For it to be removable install the pins at the first connection on the plate. I also found it easier to use self tapping hex head screws and fender washers to make it more stable. I also added some sealant to prevent rust at the screw holes. I personally don't like it but it's better than what I had. I should have bought a center mounted instead. I feel it puts too much stress on one end if the tailgate cable. That's just my opinion.

    By all means buy a Ford, but please note their tailgate ladder option is an extra $300. I think most people would prefer to spend the $50-$70 to have a much more useful product. @robby844

    That hole you made will be rust after one month you must do some paint first or use some silicone .

      I use clear coat paint then I use rubber backed washers or silicone in my drilled holes. Never rusts for me.

      Ya' Ford offers it as option but it should be standard equipment on them all for the fact you have to retrieve tools to repair them so many times daily.

    Dangerous piece if junk. The first time you use it on unlevel ground you will see why. Try not to hurt yourself.
