Don't feel bad about not tanning or whatever--you're reducing your risk of skin cancer by using hats and sunscreen as well as reducing premature skin aging. Definitely get your tanning oil scent from perfume, not from broiling yourself. 😅

I love Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche. In the Texas humid heat it lasts pretty good. I have always wanted to try Terracotta.

This is so interesting- just yesterday I found Beach at TJ Maxx and snatched it up based on the name. Lol. I had never heard of it but I love it. It reminds me of summer vacations at the shore....sunscreen, sandy towels, snow cones. I just love it!

Yes, I"m trying to do a mix because everyone is different in what they enjoy but honestly, you don't need to break the budget to smell AMAZING!!! I would say that that is the most important message for me to get across to my subscribers.
Funny. Both the bronze goddess eau fraiche and the eau de parfum are my most complimented fragrances. They are so solar and luxe to me! Also the coco vanille only lasts about an hour on me. I have to layer it with a coconut body cream like sol de janeiro coco cabana!

omg i used to fry myself in the sun in the 80s. Now i get sick in the sun for too long. Out of those that you listed i'm definately drawn to the Coco Vanille because it has peach which makes me smile and im a sucker for madagascar vanilla and tiare flower. Thanks for the tips.

As someone who loved the beach and sun then I was diagnosed with lupus and now can not tolerate the sun I’m so sad every time the summer comes around. I say this because now I lean on beach fragrances for memories. Thank you loved this video. New subscriber love you’re personality and energy.

Thanks for this video, Maria. I do not enjoy beach scents because they remind me how miserable I was as a kid with sunburns (my skin is practically translucent). I sniffed Beach Walk about a year ago and definitely didn’t like it. Your video is gonna help me know which perfumes to avoid. 🤟🏻
Oh, I hear you with the burns....like blisters and painful for days sometimes!!! I'm pretty see through myself...sometimes with the lights for filming, I feel like I almost am glowing as the light bounces off of my skin so bad!! 🤣
My current favourite beachy scent is Francesca Bianchi Sex and the Sea Neroli. I only have a low partial I got in a bundle, but I fell in love immediately. It's more beachy than sunscreen. I find a lot of the sunscreen scents smell pretty synthetic, but this one smells so much more natural. It is potent, I really only wear one spray. It is sexy, lucious and a little dirty. I am very curious to try the original Sex and the Sea as well. Not blind buy safe, the reviews are pretty polarizing, but I find it addictive.

I really enjoy beach scents. I’ve worn Beach for years and got Terracotta, Sun and also like Bronze Goddess. I’m older than you and my favorite suntan lotion was Sea & Ski. Just love the scent and wish I could find something that smelled the same. I was able to purchase the new version of Sea & Ski but the scent wasn’t as strong as I remembered.

Have you tried the Bronze Goddess shimmering oil?? That’s my #1 fave. I have the oil, Eau fraiche, azure, and Nuit. I’m Bronze Goddess obsessed 😂 but I don’t see how anyone could dislike the oil!

Bronze Goddess is difficult for me to handle in the summer. However, it seems to work better in the fall/winter. I just still never reach for it. I should probably get rid of it. I am wearing Chapter One today. So relaxing and easy to wear! Didn't do it today, but I plan to layer it with BBW At The Beach body cream. I love Alien Eau Sublime, but I have to be in the right mood for it bc it has great longevity on me.
Being in the states, it was impossible for me to get Terra Cotta, but then a friend picked up a bottle for me in Europe. Yay!!! It is so amazing! One you didn't mention, one that seems very beach goddess to me is M by Mariah Carey.
I don't understand why you guys can't get it in the states!!! At the Beach is one that I wished I would have mentioned...they used to have a perfume and it was decent too...I love the body wash and lotion and they are perfect for layering with all of the sunscreen frags...thanks for mentioning it!

I love BOTH the Tom Ford Soleil Blanc EDT and the EDP. I think they're different enough to own both. Sometimes I wear one on each arm.
I actually agree - the edp seems more warm and a bit sweeter.

Hey Maria. Sunscreen definitely wasn’t something in my childhood but neither was sun worship because I, too, cannot handle heat. I purchased Terracotta but did not like it so I gifted it to my sister. It seems Bronze Goddess works better for me. I use the Soliel Blanc oil and it lasts longer and is light enough for very hot days.

Oh, I can't stand the heat from the sun either. Suntanning is a torture for me :-)
My fav super long lasting beachy scents are Montale Intense Tiare for a tiare perfume, and when I want something salty, I spray on Kenzo Power. Both stay all day on me :-)

Hi Maria. I only have the Nuxe one you mentioned. It's OK, but I think I only wore it 2-3 times last Summer. I'm not sure I'm that much of a sunscreen smelling perfumes.
I do really like the new JHAG, Lust for Sun. But it's a nice mix of white-yellow florals and coconut on me.
I am hoping to get Terracotta before the end of Summer. Guerlain never seems to disapoint me and normally their fragrances have good longevity on me.
I need to smell the new JHAG!!!

am in London and can’t get my nose on Holidays and on Fragrantica it has sooo many bad reviews saying it’s so synthetic
so am scared of a blind buy - but it sounds perfect. 🤨

Holidays is synthetic…all Manceras are. I bought it once and sent it back…now I love it. You have to kind of sit with the Mancera DNA for a time before It makes sense
Maria, the reason your skin looks so great is probably your sun-avoidance! I never really baked, either. I did not like going to pools because I couldn't see one thing without glasses and would never wear a bathing suit anyway so I probably saved my skin by being "beach-averse" or maybe pool-averse since I was rarely near any beach. I get enough sun for my Vitamin D just being outside with my chickens and doing work around the homestead and I usually wear a baseball cap. I remember when I heard reviewers talking about suncreeny scents thinking I had no idea why anyone would want to smell like sunscreen, LOL. I think I was remembering the sunscreens of my youth. Any sunscreens I've used in the past 20 years have been unscented, I think. I do like coconut in fragrance, though. Thank you, have a great weekend.~Cynthia
I've never been a sun bather. I'm very pink and burn easily. I do remember my sister rubbing me down with Coppertone when I was a kid LOL.
I avoid perfumes that are too sunscreen like now but I did use a roller ball of Beach Walk some years ago. I much prefer Terracotta which I'm wearing now.

Great video! I love a beachy scent. I have Chapter One and love it and agree it vibes like Soleil Blanc. I also have Karl Lagerfeld Fleur D'Orchidee which is also very affordable and is very similar to Chapter One but performs slightly better on me. I haven't sniffed any of the Olympeas but they are on my to sniff list. I have and love Monoi Vague D'Ete from Yves Rocher which is said to be similar to Terracotta. I do have a sample of Terracotta somewhere. I'll have to dig it out to remind myself how it smells. 😊

You should get NUXE Sun - body spray ! It is strong like EDT ! Smells almost exactly as the Prodigieux but it's 100ml for 25$ !

To be honest Paul, they are not my favorite scent profile. I find them shampoo like. That said, I agree that they are perfect for Summer. I'm glad that you mentioned them...I need to incorporate some fragrances that I may not be fond of but I know others would enjoy! You rock, Paul!
Yup i definately need some lighter fragrances on days like this. All of mine seem so rich or intense.

I layered up on the beachy smells Wednesday, my husband's review? "you smell like summer" I'll take that as mission accomplished. Saltair's body wash, oil, lotion with the pink beach fragrance is the perfect base for whatever you want to add on top.
I've never heard of the Saltair's products before!

Usually Sun is one of those old-school powerhouse edts that are quiet longlasting. Stays *at least* 6 hours on skin (even in high heat) with great sillage and lasts more than all day on clothes😅
It's such a signature summer scent here in Germany for a lot of people (from every generation) that there are even many who find it to be annoying -esp because it's such a strong scent- (like Black Opium, La vie est belle or Coco Mademoiselle...)
Interestingly, it was my friend Janet who lives in Germany that gave me that fragrance! I could go anosmic to it...

The Bobbi Brown beach disappears within minutes no matter how much I spray. I bought the lotion instead since I love the smell. But I won't pay for the perfume bc of how awful the longevity is. I better off buying sun tan lotion..also ur right about bronze goddess il..its terribble. The one that was good and hyped was the one tom ford made with estee lauder back in 2002. He made a edp & a perfume oil one and it was very long lasting. It was limited edition and i feel that's the one u prolly liked and the one EVERYONE liked. People prolly think thats what they are expecting when they buy any of the bronze goddess's now days. Its quite tne trickery estee lauder pulled. The current one is NOTHING like the beautiful juice creat ed back in the early 2000's collab with TOM Ford❤😢

I like Bronze Goddess and Leisure in Paradise. I’m getting ready to try Maison Tahite Cacao line, and one of them in Cacao in the Sun…so we shall see how that goes soon.
My husband wears Malibu party in the bay…and it’s a fresh sprite type scent. Lasts all day and into the evening on him.
