Nah not completely true. I can point you to many songs of his that don’t have simple beats at all. You can’t make a blanket statement like that. Been a producer for two decades nearly and I’m telling you I’ve seen the breakdowns from many sessions you think are simple and just ARE NOT. It means he’s that much more a of a genius because he understands how to make sure you can’t tell just how complex the songs are actually. Also, sometimes, complex soundscapes that have a lot happening aren’t a bad thing. My point is be more open and don’t be so quick to presume what’s best is always “simple”
