- A young aspiring actor from upcountry Kenya dreams of becoming a success in the big city. In pursuit of this and to the chagrin of his brother and parents, he makes his way to Nairobi: the city of opportunity. He quickly understands why Nairobi is nicknamed Nairobbery as he is robbed of all his money and belongings and left alone in a city where he doesn’t know a soul. Luck, or the lack of it, brings him face to face with two groups of downtown crooks and he forms a friendship with a young small time gang leader who takes him in.
Drawn into a new world of theft and violence, he still tries to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. Keeping the two worlds seperate proves to be a contest for him as he struggles to survive in this unknown world called Nairobi.

The first one is very important
I cried. I can't believe I cried. I am Nigerian. I watched this movie with the motive of learning Swahili, but I have learned more than Swahili. The storyline, the setting, the structure of the movie, and how great Africans are. I am proud of my continent, Africa, I am proud of being black, and I am proud of Kenya for bringing out this great piece. Love from U.S.A 😍. Asante sana.
Even me I cries when I watch Nigerian movies
And now Oti is no more😭😭😭...may his soul rest in perfect peace🕊
What happened to him
I think this movies should be played in famous tv stations to create awareness of the great talent 🇰🇪🇰🇪 who is in support with me✊✊
Totally agree
Yeah but its an old movie
@@stacybrenda9409 old movies aren’t played on tv? That’s the stillest argument I ever heard. Most tv stations actually look for old movies because they’re cheaper to air. OP is right. If ntv/Ktn/etc cared about local content they would air this and other movies like it occasionally.
Me 💪 and we should play a part too

This movie needs to be on Netflix or somewhere so everyone can watch it such a good movie hope im not the only Caucasian girl watching 🥰🥰

Am I the only watching this in 2021. I am all teary. If only as many people could watch this movie. It's really saddening where most people think Nairobi is the place to be. But if only most of us knew just how much goes on. We would tred carefully.
Thank you @Tosh Gitonga and the whole production team. This is truly a wonderful play. The actors breathtaking kudos guys.
Hoping to see more Kenyan movies from you guys.

This movie hits differently when you are actually familiar with the streets. Such a masterpiece!
Real Nairobi life.

It is inspired by true stories. We all relate but only Nairobians understand it better.

This is exactly what happens in Nairobi streets. I have lived for 36 years and this is the experience for years in one hour and 40 mins. In kibra, Luthuli down town, gikomba, majengo, gaza, downtown kafico center has been renamed and renovated. Thugs stealing and selling in the black market, corrupt police, daily killings, impunity, etc. Well done guys. The nostalgia is great.
I like the Boy he is very confident and much love to Kenyans industries from the Gambia 🇬🇲
One minute silence for all the people who are not aware the kind of movies we have in our beloved country and continent ❤

Watching from NIGERIA. You Kenyans are too much. Love the theme and the structure. Proudly African.
Thanks Foley. Love from Kenya.
What do you mean by that, 'kenyans we are too much '
@@infinitejock.2435
I perceived it as a 'compliment'; agreeing with the subject. Nothing 'negative'!

@@joycemungai2168 anti climax movies are an actual thing, the writing can't be this good and then ending subpar, it's intentional. Kenyan Diaspora living in the USA. I've got to say. Best movie I've watched thus far. From the continent,.

Watching this in 2022 and feeling so teary through it.
Have we decided to be the way we are? Or have we looked away from everything that is surrounding us? Got me thinking!
Africa is going so far in the entertainment industry and I'm so proud having Kenya representing the best.
If only the government would support our kenyan flim makers we will be so much ahead right now
True if they choose to invest in kenyan movies I'm telling kenya will be one of the best movie producers ever.becaues we got talents
We live in a capitalist nation it isn't up to the government to do so
It isn't up to the government its upto kenyans to support their talents this well established indurstries that you see in other countries like nollywood, boolywood and hollywood they dont depend on the government, its the people who support them and watch their movies
@@leavingthematrix1261 The problem is not what the govt doesn't do; it's what it does that is the bane

This is a high quality professional film. As a caucasian male living in Australia, I have recently taken a stronger interest in African people, culture and film. Africa is much more diverse than I thought. I feel for Africans because it's very difficult to progress in life due to lack of job opportunities and corruption ( we also have those problems in Australia). I admire their strength and positive outlook on life, it's a reminder for everybody. We all have a choice to be better to those around us and treat everybody with respect. A lesson for humanity.
true..
Kenyan here. Not all African movies are 'N.G.O themed (poverty and AIDS narrative) Check out Yeleen by Malian director ,Souleymane Cisse. Francophone Africa take the cake when it comes to film in my opinion

"We've one moment to look, or to look away. The choice is ours." That phrase never gets old.
Such a story has to seen worldwide, good actors, classic editing ,wonderful ending ,this movie represents Kenya 👍
After watching this for the 10Th time, I’ve gotten the muscle to comment. I own a new production house ( theatre), and it’s my dream to bring talent that is neglected and ignored on stage. I will always do my best to understand my cast. This that went on here is exactly what is happening in this country.
The movie is so realistic I love it the way everything works out systematically and alot of realism..just an episode you won't even look aside😘big up Kenya ❤❤
