Wow. It's not unheard of course, but it is rare that a cover can compete with the original, particularly in this genre. It's not just a matter of playing a few open chords in the right sequence and good luck with the vocals. AJ has done a superb version of 'Here in California'. Well done.

A few songs are just so good on first listening, I am driven to learn them. This superb song by Kate Wolf is in that category. The wonderful singing by A J captures the lyrics perfectly, and the subdued playing is exactly right, flashy picking bursts would only distract. Another example of an incredibly well crafted song, in the same class as her Across the Great Divide. Couldn't be improved upon by singer or writer.
