- Can YOU help ME figure out what kind of wood this is? Do you know someone who MIGHT know? Have you used an app to identify wood species?

The verdict is in folks! According to the store where I bought the blank, it is Canary Wood.
Could the wood be oak ....???
On another note -- this video was your best to date, Clayton. Not a hiccup, just a very smooth delivery.
You have found your pace. Keep up the solid work and your bowl was an amazing project realized ......
👍👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯
It’s definitely not oak, or any other hardwood native to the northeast region of the USA.
I used to work in the hardwood industry so that’s 💯.
Thank you for the glowing compliment ❤️
It could not be oak, have you ever left your house?
I have no idea what kind of wood that is. But it is a pretty wood with nice hues. Plus I just enjoy watching the transformation of a simple block of wood into a beautiful bowl ... a work of art. 😁👏👍
Thank you, Jonathan! Initial feedback from my brother is perhaps Mimosa is the wood. Thank you for watching and commenting!
hmm wood types are not in my area of expertise… however i love the bowl. you always do such an amazing job!
Thank you Desiree! I'm working on your project this morning! ❤
Could you contact the store where you bought the wood, they probably have a record of it. Great video!
That is a possibility!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
I remember the receipt only had generic descriptions like, Hardwood blank.
Weird. 👍🏻
You said that the customer wanted a set of bowls, yet we only see one?
I don't know what kind of wood it is.
Good luck!
Thank you, Ralph, for the great question! This was a template, or model if you will. The customer is actually looking for a set crafted from a native wood from his ancestral lands. Thanks for watching and commenting!! :)
that wood is so beautiful!
Thank you, @Plankensen, for watching and commenting 👍🏻
This sounds to me as some wood that is native to Indo-China and those islands until Australia.
Thank you for the input and thank you for watching. 😎
@@ClaytonsWoodArt Thou art welcome.
I'm on my way to woodcraft. I will see if they have some idea what it is.
There was a nice block of Mimosa that looked pretty close.
Thank you Patrick!@@patrickbink4617
