I believe that from all the content I've learned from Seth, this concept is where I mos tend to, not disagree, but to find it hard to comprehend. I mean, I, for example, have a good idea, like the one he mentions, amonst others, that I think that if I could «get in front» of a particular someone, could make him, and at the same time me, lots of money. Considering that I don't have the money needed for it to «grow», to do it by myself, should I «drop» the idea because I don't have money to back it up myself, to share it with others so that others think with me «it is ok, that idea, let's try it out», or what? I really don't know. Even before I've started to learn from Seth (a few months ago, around a year, or so), I've shared that idea with friends and from those who I've shared it, most, I think, if not all, told me to pursue it, however, because it depends on external factors, like that specific someone «backing me», or the idea, considering that I think of it in a way that, at most, I would only ask for 2 to 5% of the revenue, so my idea was not to make me big, what should be my approach here? If you could shine some light from this bit of your wisdom, Bryan, I would appreciate! Cheers from Portugal!

What’s your idea? Share it with people that follow channels like this and get good feedback.

@@daveprice3095 It might seem «stubborn» of me, and might even be, but I'd like to really get to the person I think that idea was good, very good to, and present him with it. I've tried in the past, but had not much luck reaching to him... Not sure, yet, if full disclosing the idea will return me anything, aside the fact of actually being done, or, not saying, not being done, but also not getting nothing from it... So I was asking some advice, for now, at least...

@@mguerra79 just like seth said at the end of this video - best idea is to share your idea - if you never share, it wasnt a good idea. Good luck with it

@@daveprice3095 Yes, and also like I've said, this is the concept that I'm most «averse» to, from Seth. I've told my idea to several friends. Most, if not all, tell me it is a good idea... Not sure, anyway, thank you!

@@mguerra79 thats the problem with friends - it could be a great idea or horrible idea - they'll always say its a good idea and to pursue

If startups are created the way seth godin advises them to be created, we wouldn't have things like apple, google, youtube, dropbox, airbnb, reddit, slack, etc. All those successful startups were dumb/crazy/stupid ideas at the start lol.
BUT ALL THE OTHER ADVICE IS FREAKING GOLDEN

No exactly the opposite, Seth Godin says don't fear and create as many new things as possible, and if it fails move on and try another idea instead of getting stuck in one particular idea

Seth just said 'a small first step is great because then you can go ahead and take the first step'. In other words, take the first step to making your idea a reality and those first few steps are ALWAYS small because a step is only the size of a step. All the businesses you mention above - Google, CZcams, Apple - began with a first step. In this clip Seth was criticising ideas that are supposedly amazing, but the first step is impossible to take. If the first step is too big to take, it's a bad idea because it won't be realised. That first step is never taken.

@@gameofthronestours Agreed... I remember sitting in my dorm room and watching the founder of Google come on TechTV with Leo and talk about how innovative their search was because you could search by numbers, punctuation, and capitalized letters... Now, look at Google... they started off with advancing the basics... but had a vision to grow... too many people want to start with a vision to grow... but have no basics that they have advanced for the betterment of us all
