Cal Aggie/Landpark are both tricky for bigger riders. Scrubbing speed in "the nipple" then having to get back up to speed can be draining, and nimble skills in the corners (use easier gears thru the tight turns) is critical. Keep racing, you'll figure it all out. Just keep showing up, lining up with your number pinned on. Direct experience is so important in this sport. You'll know for sure when you look back from your 100th, 200th, 300th crit 👍 you're going great, EJ, so much growth in such a short amount of time 👏👏👏

For reals I see people do that all the time in rides. Just don’t tear the tab all the way so it all stays intact. It’s pretty simple.

Damn. I like bikeracing, but the littering some of these guys are doing is really disturbing. Like... no effort whatsoever to put gel tearoffs in the pockets. Just straight on the road...

Tyler is spot-on imo with his comments about Land Park. Adding on.. it's important to occupy any space that riders might come into on the wheel or space that you want. Keep your bars ahead of riders coming into gaps. I wouldn't recommend moving into other riders, but once you see a space a different rider can occupy, put yourself into that space in advance if that makes sense.

how much do you weigh EJ? Just curious for watts/kg. I am sure it was high. I did these same races at 63-65kg with power around 250 260
He's around 80kg last time he mentioned it. He's definitely built like a sprinter.

Good content! Could you please remove the .x behind the RPM? And I think it shows average now, might be better to show the actual values so you see more clearly when you stop peddaling and when you start again
Land Park: Take the lead into the S turn so you have clean fast line; let up to 10 guys swamp you; top 10 through last turn; follow wheels up to last 200m and sprint. Voila.

I just found out about it 😂it was for crossing the double yellow on like lap 2. I got bumped over the line in the break. The moto came up to me, but I didn’t think much of it nor could I hear what he said. Tons of others did it (crossed over the double yellow) but only a couple of us got DQed. Definitely my mistake, but I feel as if you’re going to DQ you have to be consistent with the rule.

Pretty boring always hearing Tyler either talking about how he thinks all the other riders expect him to do all the work, or that he doesn't care about the race and just wants it to be a training ride. 2cool2care.

The race videos are 10/10, but unattainable for a lot of us. I would appreciate seeing some more online racing and IndieVelo is the most realistic racing platform out there.

It just looks like you aren't locking onto any wheels in the key moments of the races, you need to lock the wheel in front of you and if necessary steal the wheel from the rider next to you who wants it.
Might be the camera but you for sure have a big problem following wheels. Like 7:21 ish when the mike bikes rider blocks you all of a sudden its getting real important to move back up, but you need to be thinking which wheel is going to move me back up, and be prepared to take it.
