I did the research. The Match Pro will handle large caliber center fire recoil. They use the same tube as some of the other models. I’ve seen questions asked in comments on video reviews on a lot of channels that were never answered.

Just to clarify; I bought the bushnell forge line, scope and binoculars. I talked with bushnell at DSC convention and they told me that this was coming. This is the first look at that lineup that I’ve seen. The forge lineup was completely awesome, now there’s a reticle to add to the mix. I’m stoked!! Absolutely love the 15x56 forge binoculars for prs and tripod binoculars. Now we get to add the reticle for measuring misses!! Sooo glad I got to see this before I actually ordered the units!

The turret feel is a lot better on the cheaper 6-24x50 Match Pro. The Match Pro ED is mushy. The glass on the Match Pro ED isn't good enough for 30x. Past 24x-25x image quality starts to go bad and gets really dark.

If you like the Match Pro you'd love the Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50. It's currently $467 at DVOR for the next 4 days. I upgraded my Match Pro and Engage scopes to the Midas TAC and boy what a night and day difference. The Midas TAC is even clearer and has much nicer turrets than the new Match Pro ED.

  • @1clnsdime1

My Bushnell spotting scope broke in a high wind at a match. That's one negatives of a straight eye piece or binos. They have to be up much higher. If these are as clear as the bushnell forge binos, that they look identical to then I'll have to give them a try. For me at a match, the range finder just is not that important. I keep mine on the side of my tripod so I can just pop it on quickly. Now my one issue with Bushnell, is the warranty. They will cover the item like the did my spotting scope that fell over. But it was over 6 months to get one.

Infact I just bought a pair of feasible ,Vortex Binos and was watching a CZcams review on them and a rifle, but the guy couldn't share his review on the binos because he overturned the eyepiece and broke them, not a deal breaker for me, just have to remember not to hand them to highstrung youngsters, or run durability tests on them like yours.Great video, thanks..

@@Armadillo223 interesting. I wonder if the older match pro was a better buy than the match pro ed?

I briefly owned a Match Pro ED and had a Match Pro and didn't like them at all and thought they weren't as good as Athlon Midas HD line and above and I was a long time Bushnell fan for decades they're overpriced for what lower quality you get nowadays. The Match Pro and Match Pro ED don't seem to be made at the same Chinese factory. The new Match Pro ED has mushy turrets the old one feels way better even without a zero stop. The glass on the Match Pro ED isn't that good either. When you go on high magnification past 24x-25x it gets noticeably darker and image quality goes south and seems it would have been a great 4-24x56 instead. The ED glass quality simply isn't good enough for a 30x. The Athlon Ares BTR Gen 2 4.5-27x50 is better with better glass and better turrets. Currently $565.49 on sale at Walmart online and Amazon while everyone else sells it for $869.99. You're also better off with a Viridian Xactus 5-30x56 better image quality and better turrets buy only when on sale at Optics Planet use a discount code they give you for signing up or they often have percentage off codes better than 10% off and free shipping.

@@Armadillo223 Too much hype and too many idiots buying into the hype who don't know any better. The Match Pro ED is a $500 Chinese scope at best.

@@bigald9560 It's a better buy after they lowered their price by $100. The Arken EPL4 is a better scope especially when bought on sale at 25% off $329. Beware when buying the illuminated reticle Bushnell scopes they only have one year warranty on the electronics just like their red dots and rangefinders and trail cams.

The reticle alone makes it a better choice for me.

Already milky glass at 24 of 30 X. Not good to hear. That's unfortunately a deal breaker. Good glass is not negotiable. The specs are great though.

The Athlon Ares BTR Gen 2 4.5-27x50 on sale for $565.49 (Amazon and Walmart online while everyone else sells it for $869.99) is superior in image quality and turrets vs the Match Pro ED. Plus the Athlon has lifetime warranty including illuminated reticle vs Bushnell one year electronics warranty on the Match Pro ED.
