You don't have to like everything, but I love it these guys are respectful even when the food is not to their liking. To be fair, Dustin eats more types of Vietnamese food then I do Lol.
Dustin doesn't know a lot of Vietnamese, but surprisingly, his pronunciation on some of the Vietnamese words he said was pretty accurate which is rare for a Westerner speaking Vietnamese. Dustin, the " restaurant" you took Julia into, wasn't a good choice at all. Not only they overcharged you for mediocre food, the sanitary, serving style ( cold food ), and services were way below standards even for Vietnamese. Next time, get some information from other YT channels and take Julia to some better places. You would be amazed there are so many good restaurants out there that serve excellent Vietnamese food.
Cơm Bà Cả is the well known rice restaurant in district 1 that explained why things are so expensive there. Bamboo shoot = măng, fish cake = chả cá, shrimp cake = tôm lăn bột...

8:27 Lươn cà ri (eel cari) , còn món ổng nấu là lươn xào xả ớt. Vị khác nhau nhé, baby. Lươn xào xả ớt là món nhập môn dễ làm, dễ sửa khi làm sai. Lươn ở nghệ an có hơn 50 món đó. Lươn sống dưới bùn, bơi trong nước được, có mang để thở nhưng cấu trúc thịt không phải của cá mà là của rắn, từng bó cơ chạy dọc thân
Trời ơi ! Món ăn VN cứ ăn xong mới tiết lộ con gì vì nhiều con ngon lắm những nghĩ đến nó là rùng mình. CHỉ là lạ chưa chế biến nó bao giờ chứ quen rồi là bình thường

Bro! I know you don’t like bamboo. But it a give and take and must try a various ways of having it cook. On another note, since you like a physical challenge and staying fit, why not do a clip of helping the local in the highlands of Vietnam harvesting bamboos and carry them down the mountains? Would love to see that. 👍💪
Julia should look for bun cha ca thia la, mean fish cake soup with dill. If you can find it then that will be great dish to try. I did not know some of Russian use dill for some of the dishes. It is just my suggestion.

Ba Ca ( means the oldest sister of the family in North Vietnamese . It`s like Ba Hai in South Vietnamese ) is the name of the founder of this restaurant . Actually her full name is Ba Ca Doi , quite famous in Saigon since 1956 . The dishes she serves there are mostly from the North where she came from . This restaurant is for working class people , not too fancy but its price is very affordable for a regular daily meal . It`s a kind of Com Binh Dân . This restaurant on Truong Dinh street is actually owned by her son and daughter-in-law . I think Ba Ca Doi herself already passed away many years ago . Next time take your friend to a Com Binh Dân spot in D4 or D11. They are much better than Ba Ca Doi 's

Bạn đã chọn phải quán ăn khá đắt đỏ so với người Việt Nam thậm chí cả nước ngoài. Nó đắt gấp 2 so với các quán cơm khác
Món ăn ở đây thường thôi, giống đồ ăn nấu ở nhà, nhưng giá cả cao. Đồ ăn nguội lạnh, nhìn không hấp dẫn. Món lươn mà ăn nguội sẽ rất tanh. Quán khá đông khách vì có vị trí tốt ở ngay trung tâm SG, và dựa vào tiếng tăm cũ. Món ăn không ngon, giá cao so với các quán cơm khác, phục vụ kém.

For the eel, I would recommend you to have it deep fried and taste it with tamarine fish sauce. It would be more tasty imo.

Mình là người Việt Nam lúc nhỏ lần đầu tiên ăn con lươn cũng buồn nôn, rất tanh. Nó chỉ ngon khi ăn nhiều lần và quen. Giống như trái sầu riêng vậy, khi nhỏ lần đầu tiên ăn sầu riêng có mùi như phân gà. Nhưng ăn nhiều sẽ rất ngon và thơm . Ẩm thực Việt Nam rất đa dạng và ngon ❤️🇻🇳

Quán này là quán cơm phần có tiếng mà, giống với cơm minh đức ton thất tùng, 1 phần tầm 40 50k, gọi nhiều dĩa thì nhân lên lên thôi, lại ờ trung tâm ngay chơ BT nên giá hơp lý rồi, chứ muốn rẻ thì đừng ăn cơm phần , goi dĩa cơm gà hay cơm sườn tầm 60-90k thôi . Hoăc ra mấy quận vùng ven thủ đức, bình chánh, q12, hoc môn , củ chi ăn thì rẻ ^^

You have to eat the bamboo along with your other dishes, I think you'll like it that way, or sauté it with soy sauce. Bamboo picks to the flavor of other things they are cooked with. It's much better cooked and favored.😊
