  • You can help us get more of the best unintentional ASMR videos like this by SUBSCRIBING: bit.ly/UASMR and hitting that 🔔. Easily of the best unintentional ASMR voices we've ever featured on this channel is the incredibly soft spoken British accent of Daniel Tammet. Based on your suggestions, we've re-edited this classic accidental ASMR interview where Daniel, a savant, talks about the secrets of the mind, language and writing, and about the various types of intelligence on the planet. Basically, what exactly makes a person a genius?
    As our original Daniel Tammet interview had a lot of terrible sound problems, loud music and was overall a terrible Unintentional ASMR edit. So we have listened to your suggestions and removed all of the loud musical interludes and background noise. We created several versions of this video where the background music was fully removed but this created some distortion to Daniel's lovely British accent so we've decided to leave it in. If you'd like to hear that other version, please let us know below. Sleep well and let us know what you think below.

    About the original video:
    Daniel Tammet FRSA is an British essayist, novelist, poet, translator, and genius. Born with Asperger syndrome and high-functioning autistic savant syndrome, he experienced great difficulty with social interaction. Growing up, he discovered that he was able to develop certain abilities, like enabling him to see the shape, colour, texture and emotion of both words and numbers, a phenomenon that we call synesthesia.
    He published his latest book, How to be ‘Normal’, on 10 September 2020. He is also the author of the New York Times bestseller Born On A Blue Day, as well as Portraits, Every Word is A Bird We Teach to Sing, Thinking in Numbers, Embracing the Wide Sky.

    Honestly I'm super embarrassed by the original version of this video on the channel. It had loads of loud musical interludes and was just super lazy editing. So I'm happy to have a (hopefully) much better version to finally do the great Daniel Tammet's voice justice.
    Let me know what you think and if there are any other videos you'd like us to remake or redo. Cheers, sleep well all!

    I remember watching his documentary about him learning Icelandic in a week and it was very much drummed up as his incredible brain and ability to learn anything quickly. I see he's toned down the "I am amazing" element of his persona. The documentary was "Daniel Tammet the boy with the incredible brain"
    And he made no mention of seeing words as colours, only numbers having shape and sounds etc and reciting Pi. Must have a phenomenal mnemonic system to remember it all.

      He actually said 'there is no evidence at all...of INTELLIGENT extra terrestrial life being found outside our planet' which is not the same at ALL as absolutely refuting the possibility of ANY life being found. And he is right - no evidence HAS been found. So he's not wrong. Not yet.

      “People ask me is there life outside of our planet, and from a mathematical perspective, no there is no evidence..” this is what I’m referring to. Maybe it’s lost in the context, but he introduces the topic of life, and goes on to say “from a mathematical perspective”.

    • @sisyr5615
      @sisyr5615 Před 3 lety +4

      He said that from a purely mathematical perspective there is no evidence of intelligent life. He did not say "mathematically, it's not possible". That would be a very different claim.

      I don't think he said "I'm soo different from other people" or anything along those lines in this video. He just talked about how he did something that many people would consider impossible. But the facts speak for themselves, not many people see numbers as shapes with colors and not many people can learn enough Iceandic to give an introductory interview in it in a week.

      There’s no such thing as a ‘British accent’. ‘British’ alone is not an accent in itself. I know you could argue that one of the hundreds of dialects from the thousands of places including all the various classes and foreign-British residents could come under the (stupid, in my option, quite frankly) title of ‘British accent’ but it’s best to say either English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish accent…, and even then within each of the four there are dozens more ‘accents’.
