  • Simple step by step instruction on connecting a basic audio mixer to a ham shack.
** Took Down Break Out Box Video **
There are to many different configurations. To make a video that covers every radio. The video I had up covered only Icom and Yaesu. I recommend contacting your manufactures info for the microphone input to determine what parameters you need for your radio.

Nice & a bit more elaborate with multiple radios & a pc integrated.
It seems the "Send" mixer jack is the only one that will work & sound reasonable with my setup.

Hi A very informative and helpful video, I’m just trying hooking up a behringer 802 and have a quick question if there’s only one out how do you send the microphone audio to say two or three radios 🤔

easiest way is to use a 1 to 1 transformer for each radio it allows for isolation between radios.

Did you ever get around to making the video on the break out box?

Thanks for the video Dan. Im using a yamaha mg12xu mixer in my shack at the moment. I seem to be having RFI issues with the mic input. Im not getting a very clean sound from the external mic and even after adjusting all the gain levels. I have heard a device such as the Behringer DI100 may fix this. Any ideas? Thanks, Ian

Thanks for this helpful video and looking forward to the break out box for the mic to the 3 radios, also are you able to record QSOs on the computer coming out of the mixer?

Stoopid question #314 (I have so many I number them) what wiring cable are you using and where do you plug it in to the radios. I mean 1/8 stereo from the back of the radio to a 1/4 - (balanced/unbalenced TRS non TRS? whatever they are). I appreciate a lot of you tubers putting ham radio/ mixer videos up but they, and you, really aren't allowing for stoopid people. I need absolute s p e c I f i c s. Thank you for your time.
