    YES YES I KNOW BMW CLAIMS 234bhp FOR THE BMW #R1250GS BUT THAT’S TAKEN FROM THE CRANK WHICH IS KIND OF POINTLESS AS ITS ALL ABOUT THE POWER ON THE ROAD.
    UNFORTUNATELY WE DIDN’T DO A DYNO RUN BEFORE THE BIKE WAS DECATTED SO BARE IN MIND THIS IS A BEFORE AND AFTER BASED ON JUST THE #MAPPING.
    Increase is only 1.4bhp. Doesn’t seem a lot but it’s the way it’s now being distributed and a further increase in torque

    Word of advise, get any work by Hilltop checked in an independent dyno, Hilltop done a flash on my s1000rr, turns out he done f*ck all, bike was running super lean all over, and his dyno graphs are all bull.

    Research Hilltop, I did and it put me off getting this done. Lots of people say that it's a con.

      If it's a con then he's sure duped a lot of word class race teams as well. Seems a little elaborate to invest hundreds of thousands of pounds in equipment and infrastructure just to con people out of a few hundred quid.
      Always a little perplexing that a small number of haters will be believed over an overwhelmingly larger number of satisfied customers. Human nature I guess.

      I think it's been proven, research treetop tuning! Read all the test results. Personally I wouldn't risk it with Hilltop seems all smoke and mirrors. But hey each to their own.

      Alan GS Neal with the emphasis on ‘Think it’s been proven’ I’ve watched the videos you’re referring to. This is someone who is setting out to do damage to someone else’s business. If you’ve eaten at a restaurant for years and you love the menu, the people and food etc then hearing a bad comment about it won’t necessarily put you off from going. However if you haven’t been to that restaurant before and you hear the same comment then you’re more than likely not to go.. Each to their own. As nick said.....There’s Further proof in the race teams that use hilltop than someone who’s just trying to ruin them. But for me and my mate we’ve had 4 bikes between us tuned by them and results are noticeable. No smoke and mirrors

    why aren't there any AFR readings? It seems in the before run, like the throttle isn't 100% from 3000+ up to 5500rpm...and from that point on, your curves are identical...

    Love this tweak you can do to these beauties. Waiting in my 2020 GSA HP here in the Texas. Going to seek out same service. Also adding the Denali CANsmart, Sound Bomb, D4 & D7 combo. Denali being so customizable, “is there a configurator” as to the most popular way to run 2 pr Denali’s and 1pr OEM BMW riding lights. Should I email? Amazing work here!

    Given the numerous claims about HT scam, I find this video as an golden opportunity for the OP to prove them wrong. @A Bike Thing has two HT'ed bikes at his disposal, and it would be quite interesting to see a video where he visit an independent tuner to get his ECU analyzed and power output checked up against a OEM tuned bike. (A search on net will reveal several tuners that offers such a test at no cost). This would also help to clean up the question about the OP's integrity. As of now, we get the creepy feeling that the OP is promoting a scam.

      Torque at 2000 rpm goes from 32 ft/lb to 72 ft/lb with the tune. Hmmmmm.... BMW must be doing something very wrong with their tuning. Though BMW would be tuning for fuel economy & emission reduction complying with the EU standard. BMW would be tuning lean and HT chucking lots of fuel into engine. More power = more fuel use.
      My 2020 1250 GSA stock does not really need any more power down low and fueling is near perfect. I rarely use the stock power available so a 'tune' is mostly superfluous for me.

      @@peterrick3339 . The after-run corsponds to a dynorun performed by Cycle World about a year ago. The 'Before' run is way below anything published by anyone but HT.
      So, their tuning has still not be proven to be anything but Hot Air.

      @peterrick3339 Před rokem

      @@knutk4256 I read a long time ago that HT were scamming people with their re-mapping and imo the supposed increase in torque at 2000 rpm tends to support the accusations. And if what you wrote is correct (and i can not be bothered to find other power/torque graphs for the 1250), then HT need to be called out. Someone should get their bike dyno'ed at a reputable dyno before taking to HT then re-dyno'ed after HT do their magic. Mindful that different dynos often show different hp/torque this would still show whether the HT tune was legit.

      Clive Bishop I’ll try and get the man himself to come on here and answer you. But the cost is £360 if you’re a first timer and £300 if you’re a repeat offender. This is his 3rd bike he’s had done by Geoff at Hilltop.

    Excellent Vid and great info...thanks ....just a quick question does conducting a Dyno tune affect your maintenance / service warranty over there in the UK?...I also have a R1250GSA HP and they are extremely strict on the 3 yr warranty here in Australia....just wondering ....again cheers

    • @headfucked01
      @headfucked01 Před 4 lety

      Just don't mention it to your dealer. Most dealers will always honour warranty claims as it's good for reputation and business. And it's BMW Motorrad that pay for it, the dealer can't lose as they invoice the work to Motorrad.

    If it worth it, if it's legal, if it's damageable is questionable. But if it's possible cannot be.
    Those who claim it's not possible to gain (or loose) HP by tuning the ECU are either naive, or totally ignorant or just hypocritical...
    I own a 1250GS but I did the same myself a few times on my former 990KTM with "TuneECU" . You can play around with all variables , visually see the effect on the auxiliary valves, fill the difference with you butt, prove it by a dyno…. OFC it's possible and easy to do now that you know where in the map and dozen of variables you have to hack

      Tango, who is claiming that "it's not possible to gain (or loose) HP by tuning the ECU" ? It's the amount of gain or loose that is questionable.

    Putting aside for a moment that I don’t understand why you’d buy a medium powered bike and spend time and money trying to make it be something it isn’t (buy a Super Duke GT? An S1000XR? Multistrada?), it seems the best way to verify is dyno before and after somewhere else. Never been myself but they do seem to have waffled some bollocks to plenty of people. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @harley84fly
      @harley84fly Před 5 měsíci

      It’s got nothing to do with the power of the bike. It’s about getting rid of the flat spot in the midrange for emissions and noise testing. All modern bikes have the issue. And the gs is by no means a medium powered bike 😂
