Hi, good video. If you want "Extrude Cuts" to show on the flat model then you must use the ribbon tab "sheet metal" then with-in select the "cut extrude", very handy. I agree the cut should be done after bending though.

@3:45 you tell us to hi light the ladder line, then click the feature tree and chose front plane. and then the relations come up and chose "parallel" relationship. Only problem is no relations come up on my software when I follow your instruction to the letter.

Excellente Video! I had a problem... I couldnt make flatten. Any ideas...??

From an engineering physical point of view, it cant be flattened, only the straight parts, the rounded parts need to be rolled. The design is not really practical in the real world.

Solidworks doesn't detect my custom weldment profile, even after selecting the folder in its options..

Someone please help me out with my doubt!
What if I want the ladder to be little wide at the bottom and make it converging towards the top? It'll mean that the sketch will be in 2 planes right? How to do it?

      @jkk8043 Před 7 lety

If you haven't figured out a different method yet....in the 3D sketch, use construction lines to draw the ladder (not the rungs yet), then use two more construction lines at the bottom to mark end points at whatever width you want. Then draw solid lines from those end points to the ladder start points at the top. Then draw in the rungs.

    Innova Systems,
So I have just installed Solidworks 2016. On my previous version it was easy and simple to use my weldments profiles. I do understand how load your own profiles or any kind.
Now the problem I run into is: When you right click on your tab you see your options: Assemble, Layout, Sketch, Evaluate and so on... And for some reason, and maybe I did something when I first started to use solidworks, it doesn't give me option of adding weldments tab? So I can't use it at all?
Am I supposed to do something in setting to be able to use this feature? Or maybe it's my installation was done wrong?
    Please help help!!
    Thanks,

The income of the welder who is capable of putting that sheet through the top rounded welded pipe is 300 billion dollars per month. :)

Excellent video. Still don't know how to export the sheet metal parts and tube etc for individuals to manufacture. Export?

Hi, I'm following this video with my SW2023, When I use the assembly and created the new parts for the slide, in the SW23, the sheet metal tab (and the Insert / Sheet metal) just all disappear. If i create a new SW Parts file, the sheet metal function is there. Is it a change due to the new version?

Good Video, however going rather fast for someone to really see how you are doing things. Remember, not everyone , has the experience. It would be nice if you slowed up and showed the tools that you are using

For weldments, you sure took a long path to get to the actual content, your 3D sketching made no sense to me.

This video could have been great except for too often the narrators poor language pronunciation, poor explanations, poor audio and voice mumbullings made this video very aggravating and time consuming to follow.
