  • Home Assistant has different visuals you can use for Energy Management - to see what is going on. Starting from the standard out-of-the-box Energy Panel. Or you can make a dashboard in Grafana and embed it in the Home Assistant dashboard. And there are also few custom cards - including my favorite Sankey diagram card. You know that I give a lot of attention to Energy Management, and great visuals are the key to its optimal tuning. So let me show you what I use in my actual setup.

    I just subscribed, great video, a bit to complicated for me at this time, a HA beginner and non-programer. I would like to use the power panel you show in the beginning at 2:22. Do you have a video on setting that up? I don't really care for the built in energy panel. Also how are you montering the appliances, do you have smart appliances or use an external device to get the power consumption?

    Wonderful video, I assume for the third sector you have power monitoring across all your end devices? Do you have a video on how you set it up, is it a tonne of shellys or do you have some incredible hardware that can decode power wave?

    Thanks again for the awesome video Vaclav! I hope to set this up on my personal dashboard since I have solar panels, inverter, and batteries at my home in the USA (Michigan). However, I am struggling with the battery part of the equation (I don't know how to integrate that part into the HA energy dashboard). Since one cannot use a current transformer (e.g. clamp sensor) for measuring DC current flow how does one monitor the battery charge and discharge? May I ask how you did it?

      @bruxy70  Před rokem

      I get this from the inverter integration. If yours does not have it, how about the battery?

      Ok. This might not be easy then. I guess I'd search the internet, or have a contractor to put monitoring in place. Suppose the BMS has a Modbus interface. But hart to know how hard this would be and if it's worth the effort.

    Grafana is great, I've tried to embed chart as well. But problem is with authentication, when I don't want to allow anonymous access to dashboard (with Grafana visible from internet). And Grafana also has to be accessible directly, as Home Assistant is not doing a proxy. It would be great if Grafana could auto-login current Home Assistant user..

    Thanks for your video, great explanation.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. Where did you get the sensor house consumption from? Is that your own sensor?
    2. I think sankey is really chic. Have you already tried that with election date. That you can choose the period yourself?

    • @bruxy70
      @bruxy70  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I get the house consumption from the inverter. But before I had PV, I had a Shelly3EM sensor for that. No I haven't tried that.

    This what I’ve been hoping to do, but as usual it’s baffling. I followed instructions from my computer an got the graph I desired in my dashboard, success. But it will not show on either my phone or tablet using the app. Saw the note below about connecting remotely and grabbing the address from Grafana. Did this and saw the graph and thought success but no I only get to see the graph when I am not on my local network. Very frustrating. Do you have any other ideas on how this might be made to work in all flight modes?

    • @bruxy70
      @bruxy70  Před 11 měsíci

      I'd first make sure you can see Grafana from outside of your network. Then, you can integrate it to your dashboard. If you can't get to grafana as such, it worn't work from the dashboard. And once you get ot working, you can perhaps set-up the llnk when working from outside, to make sure you have the right link (e.g. if you use a local address when connecting to HA from withion your network).

      @@bruxy70 It works from the dashboard from my computer but not the HA app, so I turned off wifi and connected via cell carrier. found the link for the graph and edited my dashboard to use that link. It worked fine but when I reconnect to my wifi I once again cannot see the graph on the dashboard.
