  • The Tamiya Rising Fighter 2008-2018. Same location, same model, before and after the upgrade!
    Presenting the Tamiya Rising Fighter, the infamous 2WD 1/10 Grasshopper II-Super Hornet-DT01-hybrid-buggy, Last of the Tamiya Hopper-Hornets! Here in both stock form (originally released in 2008) and in my own 10th Anniversary Custom Edition (2018), complete with Tamiya and Ampro Upgrades.

    I also included a different edit ("Version II") as an unlisted video with cuts back and forth between the stock and upgraded version, as well as some run time without music ... and a lot of wind noise in the microphone: • UNLiSTED ViSiONS: Tami...
    Check out my channel for many more videos with the Tamiya Grasshopper and Hornet family ... and many other Tamiya RC models and RCs from other brands!
    For those who are new to The Rising Fighter history, this model (Tamiya 58416 from 2008) is based on the Tamiya Grasshopper II chassis, a modified Tamiya Super Hornet body, a Tamiya DT-01 Gear Box and a DT-01 Mad Fighter Wing. This is my take on a custom 10th anniversary tribute custom edition. Just the Rising Fighter, a kind of "Hornet III", which I wish Tamiya had released 10 years ago. On second thought, maybe not, because I would have missed out on all the upgrade- and tuning fun.
    Here is an overview of the upgrades and links to the previous video series on this channel, including the different steps, first off road run and GPS speed test:

    hahaha I love the walk of shame back to its owner at 1:45 with the antenna tube dangling. I'll be getting mine in the next week or so, cant wait to build and drive it!

    This was awesome! I’m a sucker for before and after videos and black RF looks killer .

      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety

      Thanks, my friend! Yeah, and it looks so good with the AMPro Parts, with the rear down and no clunk clunk clunk :-) Handles a lot better too and doesn’t flip at all, as seen in the video.

      Yeah. And it was kinda funny to try and re-create the same shots I had with it from before. Runs so much better now (and looks so much better now in my opinion). Thanks for watching, bro.

      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety

      Thanks, Rob. Yeah, some day I need to sort out the hard-as-stone rear suspension, but I'm not sure how. Maybe I will try out that extension of the rear upper shock mount, as on yours :-) Yeah, does look good in "Hornet-Black" :-)

    @scootergti Před 5 lety +1

    Very cool, I'm doing a similar upgrade from Ampro Engineering. Plus a oil dampened shocks addition will change the ride considerably. Affordable model with upgrades out there to have!

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety

      Thanks, scootergti! Yeah, and it's always fun to upgrade - I like the process :-) Thanks a lot for watching! Hope you get your Rising Fighter the way you want it to be :-)

  • @ShenRC
    @ShenRC Před 5 lety +2

    😉👍Nice your upgraded one looks much nicer! Its funny in slo mo you can see the rear shocks getting pulled open on throttle and this is why the suspension don't work only when off throttle on these hoppers!

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety

      Shen RC Thanks, Steve. Yeah, I ‘ve noticed that too, also when just running it, and it explains why my effort trying to soften it up was futile.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety +1

      Definitly recommend them. Just got a pre-glued 4WD 1/10 E-Rocket buggy tire/wheel set too. That’s how much I like them ☺️

  • @MarkBryanRC
    @MarkBryanRC Před 5 lety +2

    Ahhh - what a difference - looks like a different buggy now, and I notice there were no roll-overs in the latest run! I wonder why? Great job you did there my friend! :))

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks, Mark. Yeah, for me, that was one of the best parts. I remember I was amazed seeing Sigbarth RC’s upgraded RF not doing any roll overs and wanted that for mine too ☺️The stock would roll over just looking at it on tarmac. Now, I can’t get any roll overs even though I try. And the rear-“damping” works great on this smooth tarmac 😄

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC Před 5 lety +1

      Cool my friend - so glad you got the RF you wanted eventually!! It sure is a special RF! :-)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety +1

      Your RF is special too. Would be cool if we all could run our special RF’s together. AMPro, Sigbarth RC, Rob got some beauties and special ones too. Except for you and Rob (lucky you!) we are scattered all around the globe ☺️ But the RF sure is a fun buggy to tweak and tune into what one wants it to be. But as you said, it will still be a hopper no matter what we do ☺️

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC Před 5 lety +1

      Hell yeah! That would be ace - we would call it "HOPPERS UNITED!" What a meeting that would be! Imagine the footage we could get! Maybe one day... a lovely thought! :-)

  • @wereallydontknowwhatweredo5038

    How many vehicles do you have??? Do you have a video just on your collection?? I want to see that if you do👍

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety

      I haven't really counted it. Each year I upload a video with my Tamiya collection, this year also a montage with some of the others (I have no collection videos of my 1980s toy-grades). You can find all my 'collections' in my channel's video list (Tip: You can do a search in all channel's video lists, if you are looking for a particular video or model on the channel).
