  • Get exposed to FZI-Flow Zone Indicators Technique used to identify reservoir intervals with unique petrophysical properties such as high permeability. it is mainly used to define hydraulic flow units and characterize zones with certain production behavior. This video explains with exercise the following:
    1- Definition of FZI Technique
2- Application of FZI in Reservoir Evaluation
3- Types of Reservoir need FZI technique
    4- FZI Calculation Methodology
    5- Factors impact FZI values
The Exercise is done using Excel.

Thanks a lot for video. I want to add some thing, since the porosity is in %. So use Phiz =Phi/100-Phi and in the calculation of RQI, you need to convert into Dec; RQI = 0.0314*(K(md)/Phi(Dec)).
kindly correct me if I am wrong.
    Regards,

Thanks for the video. Here I have couple questions: 1. How did you define the limits of each FZI? Can we define each fzi from 0 to 0.5, 0.5 to 1, 1 to 1.5 etc as well? 2. Why do we have different por-perm values in each fzi, meaning we have high pot-perm and low pot-perm values. what is causing this? 3. Some samples (values) in group 2 for example are better than group 3 samples, meaning they have better por-perm values than some of group 3 samples. Why is that?

Thanks for the presentation, but my question is how to deal with the problem of different order of magnitude with the same porosity for example in group 4, where we have 100 md vs. 1000 md range. Will this mask those 1D subunits, and I think what will be interesting how to deal with non cored wells?

    • @geoscienceskills4839
      @geoscienceskills4839  Před 2 lety

since it is Carbonate Reservoir, then it is highly expected to find different order of magnitude. FZI is applicable in such kind of reservoirs especially if Fractures are involved. so I think changing the dispatch of data and reduce the magnitude is controlled by type of representation equation selected (Linear, Power, Logarithmic,...etc). regarding distribution in non-core wells what we need is a representative rock unit for each FZI. Having FZI only is the first part of RT process ,, second is to answer why Por-K core data show this behavior. once rock units have been identified then we can use calculator to distribute FZI to non-cored wells.

CAN YOU DO AN EXAMPLE ABOUT HIGHLY COMPLEX RESERVOIR SUCH AS CARBONATES WITH DOBLE TRIPLE POROSITY HOW THE PERMEABILITY BEHABES ? CAN YOU SHARE THE EXCEL, PLEASE?? OR WHERE CAN WE FIND THIS K AND POROSITY DATTA?? REGARDS FROM MEXICO!!! THANKS!!

To my knowledge... I have been through 2Phi-2k system reservoir. The double porosity-permeability is associated with presence of Fractures. I think the triple system where u will have different Kx, Ky, Kz in three dimensions is truly interesting subject and I will be happy if u can share case studies if u have 🙂

could you please explain how to Predict FZI in uncored wells.

Actually this method enables you to predict FZI in uncored wells. You just need to quality control when you are done with FZI propagation in the model.

      Yes u can... As
We have more petrophysical data from wells... The better and more rubost results we get that reflect lateral and vertical of reservoir properties
