Peter is probably the most well known of all of the disciples.
He is the first to declare Jesus as the Messiah
...and also the first to be called Satan by Jesus.
He’s a disciple so familiar, and yet, are there things about him that we don’t know?
Things between the lines and beyond the words of scripture that will help us to not only understand this man better, but also see how his story impacts our own?
Well in this video, I’m going to share with you 6 insights into the person and life of Peter that both change the way you see him, and possibly even change the way you read the Bible.
Thank you for watching!

I am so glad Jesus didn't pick all perfect people to become His disciples. If H e had there would be no hope for any of us and we wouldn't learn that you can fail and still try it again until you get it right. I am so glad Jesus loves me
I am so glad He forgives me.
The best thing in life is that God sees all your mistakes and weaknesses, knows your imperfections and still thinks you're completely amazing!
@Cynthia Tate God Bless you!
It’s like he looks at us and sees Jesus. incredible.
And that is very comforting. He is truly gentle, and kind, and loving, and all forgiving. And he is showing us how we should strive to be like him.

Facts
I just watched season 3 episode 4 I cried my eyes out. When I did I asked that my son be healed from alcohol and drugs. My faith was so high. Then I watched season 3 episode 5. My heart was beating so hard. May all our prays be answered. God bless everyone
Substance abuse is definitely from Satan. I hope your son is delivered from that vice one day.
I cried during EVERY episode. Lol
God listens.
I cried like a baby too,
Is your son an addict? Or does he just casually consume alcohol and recreational drugs?
“Peter made a deal to get extra shout outs” made me giggle out loud. Very good video.
Lately, since the Chosen hit my life, I have been relating so much to Peter, and realizing that God really is amazingly gracious to me, so much I DON'T deserve Him!!! PRAISES to my 👑 King Yeshua❣️✝️🙏
You are right!! The Chosen does "hit" you and you can't stop watching and searching for every little piece, because you don't want to miss out on anything. 🙄🤔
Amen and amen when I came back to the Lord I felt exactly what you just described I learned also that the heavenly father was really my daddy and I did not have that relationship growing up you know a daddy that let me run into his arms and pick me up and just love me it wasn't until I was a teenager that my father got saved so when I came back to the Lord he filled in that Gap for me of what I did not have growing up as a little girl that was so phenomenal I just did not know God love me that much of course I knew John 3:16 of course I've studied the Bible been in Christian since I was 6 years old but I had been in and out of church as an adult so when I turn 49 looked at my life how messed up it was I quit blaming everybody else and held myself accountable and I realized how unworthy I was of God's mercy but I was so thankful for that very Mercy and I praise His holy name every day and thank GOD for it

I came across your teachings by “accident” and I need to say, thank you for putting the cookies on the lower shelf so we can all reach them, not that I’m uneducated but you teach on a level that we all understand.
I know that I personally will be reading my Bible in a different way
That's so awesome! I'm so glad they're helpful and easy to understand!
@@BrandonRobbinsMinistrygood job
I really like your comment I am always going to remember that "put the cookies on the bottom shelf so we can all reach them", that's amazing😊👍🥰
Beautiful. People always want to place the disciples above them and in reality they were imperfect souls made just like Jesus wanted them so he could mold them and they in turn become the influential leaders of his church. He wanted them to be able to connect to others.
@SwordOfTruth 🤣🤣 love it!
Jesus built his church on the rock, and that's Peter. What a wonderful thing to be told that you are the rock that upon I will build My church!!!!
AMEN 🙏 ❤
It was his faith , Peter's faith he was talking about when stating " I will build my church upon this rock " not Peter the person , but his faith , it is the same faith as the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years ,
The roman catholic church is a pagan, antichrist cult and what you stated was just one of their many heresies. WHO IS THE ONLY ROCK? "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST (not peter)." 1 Corinthians 3:11
IS PETER THE ROCK?: "And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and THAT ROCK WAS CHRIST." 1 Corinthians 10:4
Greek for "rock" is petros which means little rock or pebble
Jesus is the foundation, the only Rock .... "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets (whom God gave us His written Word through), Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone (foundation)." (Ephesians 2:20) .... The term "apostles and prophets" refers to the Holy Scriptures that they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit to give us. It refers to the written Word.
WHO IS YOUR ROCK? Christ was not saying that peter or any mere man was the Rock .... that would blatantly contradict His own Word .....
There's no such thing as a "pope" in Christ's kingdom. Such a title or office appears nowhere in Scripture. Peter was a Jewish apostle of Jesus, not a pope of Rome. Peter wrote 8 chapters at the end of the New Testament canon and never mentioned that he was a "pope." Surely he would have known if he was the first "pope." Pure fiction. The office of the "pope" is the seat of antichrist. Run for your life.
I don't know about anyone else, but I can't wait to meet the people in the Bible in heaven. Of course, I also will fall at the feet of Jesus in gratitude for loving me!!
In the study of Luke a few years back, I noticed it said Pilate asked a third time who the crowd wanted. Third time again the crowd denied Jesus and said Barabas. I got thinking of Peter's 3 denials and Jesus' 3 Do you love me ? God showed me it had to be 3. You can't just deny one part of the Trinity. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one. To deny one you deny all three. Thus, 3 questions of who from Pilate, 3 denials from Peter and 3 Do you love me from Jesus.
That's a fascinating observation!
@@madmanjim795 😇💯🖖🕊🖖💥
You see patterns too huh
He also preached for 3 years. Was on this planet for 33 years. 3 is a magic number
And with those 3 times he said he loves Jesus, he proved his love and it was cleaned, the part when he denied Him. It was also the way that Jesus proved to him:"it is all for given, don't eat yourself for your denial"
Thank you Brandon, the way you explain and break down the ‘language’ barriers so we clearly understand is a gift ✝️❤️
I've been a Christian since I was 9 & am now 64. God's love letter- The Bible has blessed my life for many yrs. However when I saw the 1st episode of The Chosen season 1 it changed my life.
I asked Jesus to let me see people like He sees them. He answered my prayer & this has blessed me every day since. There are so many hurting people who need to hear God's love for them through Jesus. I'm sharing The Chosen w/all those who don't know this GREAT LOVE!!! Thank all of y'all who are a part of this AMAZING PRODUCTION! After seeing these videos about the show I pray for y'all too as y'all tell God's Love Story.💞🙏😊
Love these lessons to accompany The Chosen. Thank you for the work you put into each video. 🙏
Yes. I cry every time even now when I read John 21. Most Powerful in my repentance and surrender to my Lord Jesus. He Loves me and you so. very much. He's jealous for us. Amazing.
The blood of Jesus made us worthy!!!! My past is not who I am. 3 years sober October 7. Praising God always!
Praise God brother, So happy for you!
Simon=shema=obey Like, SIMON SAYS!! Perfect! Thank you so much for these teachings- REALLY means a LOT
Thank you for your loving way of sharing Simon Peter with all of us! Thank you for your knowledge around Greek! It was so very helpful! I can’t wait to learn more about what you have to say. Thank you for your love and thank you for loving the Bible in such a way that you share it with all of us!
This is some of the best biblical content and teaching on this platform by far. Plain and simple for all too understand. Sort of reminds me of Jesus himself. Too many "Christian Scholars" want to impress us with their profound knowledge of the Bible and lose many of us on terminology that requires a dictionary to decipher what the message is! I love the simplicity of your explanations of things I glazed over while reading my Bible. Job well done Brandon.
What you have said about most scholars is so true. A plaque of what you said should be on the wall of every Christian college
I just loved how you described Simon Peter to us! You have such a way that's easier to understand with the Greek translations and Hebrew translations! Thank you! ❤️
Thank you!
As a Catholic I was deeply impressed with this talk. Thank you and God bless you Brandon!
I am also Catholic and agree 100%!
Peter was not the first pope.nero crucified him upside down in 68ad.Simon pater the sorcerer, who tried to buy the anointing the disciples in ACTS had was the first pope.Vatican comes from Latin vulgate Vaticanus.u been lied to
This is fun because St Peter is the first Pope.
This is even more fun cos Peter was not pope, nor ever in Rome.
@@geordiewishart1683
Oh really? You have been to Rome and know this for a fact? Go into the Roman catacombs and you will see grave after grave read: “resting near Peter”, “laying close to Peter”. One grave actually says: “here Peter rests”.
Are you so sure of your “facts”?
Peter - in whom Jesus trusted even though he had many faults. Peter is our example of someone we can trust and follow on the road to Calvary.
Dear Beautiful Brandon,
Thank you for your knowledgeable and sweetly compassionate descriptions.
Jesus smiles
I love Jesus Christ
All of these points are good, but #6 was worth every minute.
There’s a sermon given at BYU from Spencer W. Kimball called “Peter My Brother.” In that talk he talks about Peter denying the Savior thrice. He then says that it doesn’t make sense that someone who hours before cut off a Roman soldier’s ear and was ready to fight to the death only to then deny the Savior. If you look at the wording in the KJV, when Jesus says “thou shalt deny me,” it sounds more like a commandment rather than stating what will happen, which makes a lot of sense when you look at the character of Peter.
Reminds me that only Jesus Knows the depths of our hearts...Even more than we know ourselves
This was amazing! Please do more of the disciples...Sons of Thunder James and John would be great
Awesome! Will do!

Definitely. I’ve got some Bible study ones coming soon. And I’ll definitely be covering more of the disciples!

@@emilyraines6106 Read the old book from the '70s or '80s by Dr. William Steuart McBirnie called The Search For The Twelve Apostles. Here is a link to a revised version that I do not know much about the revisions, but the old books are cheaper and easy to find used. I found it interesting, but keep in mind that for some of the 12 Apostles it is more traditional handed down stories than verified by historians. John, Peter and Paul are fairly easy and of course, the Apostle James the son of Zebedee and brother of John was killed in Acts by Herod. Did you know Doubting Thomas was martyred in India? Also the Church of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar still exists to this day and even Wikipedia has a lengthy article on it.

Thank you so much for re-affirming the love of our Messiah and how Worthy He is to be praised.
Thanks for these insights.Greetings, from India.
First seek our father in heaven and his justice and everything will be added godbless everyone amen
So in love with Jesus teaching. Admire so much those men that follow Jesus I’d follow Him too as I thrust Him today
Having gone to Catholic school, I look to Simon-Peter in the series with very special attention. I see this brash, sometimes silly but harsh guy and just know - 'this is the guy who's going to become the first Pope. This is the leader of the Church. Woah.' Jesus certainly didn't use the 'best' people for their roles, but through Him they BECAME the best at their roles! Sounds like Simon and Matthew become friends in the end if Matthew speaks so highly of him lol.
I found it interesting when u said they ‘became’.. their best.. Yahweh(Jehovah,in English) actually means.. “Causes To Become”!❤️🙏🏼
This is so beautiful so refreshing, the teaching about the beloved Peter, and how Jesus loves us dearly in spite of ourselves.
GOD is in control. PTL & AMEN
Good stuff! Thank you

I Will Build My Church, And
The Gates Of Hell Shall Not
Prevail Against It."
Just for your information, Catholics are not Christians. Orthodoxes, Methodists, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, etc... aren't Christians either.
Why?
- Each of them have beliefs, teachings, ideologies and practices that are NOT in the Bible. A.K.A., doing what they want.
- It is impossible for Catholics, Orthodoxes, Mormons, Methodists, Jehovah Witnesses, etc... to end up in the same place (Heaven) if they all have different beliefs, teachings, practices, and ideologies.
For example, Catholics believes that Mary is a virgin, which isn't true. If you actually read the Bible (not the Catholic edition) you would know that Mary had other children with Joseph. Therefore, Mary was not a virgin.
- Mary is NOT the mother of GOD. Catholics praise Mary as if she is the creator and the mother of GOD. But, GOD doesn't have a mother, He created all humans, including Mary.
Mary was the mother of Jesus here on earth, that is it. She was just chosen from the other virgins.
- Catholics confess their sins to pope/priests instead of to GOD/family/friends/the person you hurt. The priest/Pope is not GOD, you can come to GOD directly.
- You guys have images/statues in your church of "saints", when clearly in one of the Ten Commandments it says in Exodus 20:4 says:
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, *or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above* , *or that is in the earth beneath* , *or that is in the water under the earth" .
- You guys pray to an image of "Jesus Christ" when you shouldn't pray to any image or have any necklaces. Exodus 20:5 says:
*Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them* , *nor serve them* : for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
- You guys baptise children, when I think they should be baptised when they give their life to Jesus Christ, A.K.A. being a new creature in Christ.
- You guys have the 7 sins or something like that which ISN'T in the Bible.
- Etc...
See also Daniel 2:44 to learn the meaning of the rock not hewn by human hands which grows and overcomes the man made kingdoms of the world. This rock is our Messiah. The cornerstone of the church. Christ's body is all those who make up God's true church.
@@TedEhioghae The Bible of which you refer to which is the Word of God, was compiled by the Catholic Church. Catholics are the Christian Church, the Church established by Jesus Christ. Man throughout history has proclaimed some heresies and differences of doctrine which culminated in the Protestant Reformation. All Catholics recognize the Protestant denominations that are trinitarian, in other words, the Catholic Church recognizes the one baptism into the Church proclaimed in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, using water. There are doctrinal and dogmatic differences beyond that, however, Catholics believe that all are saved through Jesus Christ according to God's judgment alone, and we can only know the Father through the Son. We have a very intimate and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through whom the Father is revealed. The purpose of baptism is far deeper than a choice or acceptance of Jesus. All children are created in the image a nd likeness of God, and therefore deserve to become members of His flock as soon as possible, as baptism sanctifies us and removes original sin, although leaving the effects behind (concupiscence). Many of your proclamations about the Catholic Church stated above are misconceptions, and dialoguing about the differences directly with a well-educated Catholic is best. Many Catholics do not know their faith, likely because there was a period in history when they were discouraged from reading the Bible, after the Protestant Reformation. This is no longer the case. We know the Scriptures very well, and to develop a deep, and intimate relationship with Jesus is best aided by His Word, as He is the Word (John, Chapter 1). God bless you, and I look forward to knowing you in heaven someday!
Powerful! Keep them coming!

Beautiful thank you 🙏🏼
I got one for you, Peter was a widower, otherwise his mother in law would not have served him. His wife, who is never mentioned had obviously passed away and the responsibility of feeding Peter fell on the mother in law.
The Church fathers, some who studied under the apostle John also preached that Peter was a widower. Peter is the Rock who was the first pope, the rock on which the Holy Catholic Church is built
Thank you so much 💕💕💕
Very kind and gentle teaching - thank you!
Excellent presentation!
