I can think of a happy accident, Mcfarlane Toys released a Deathstorm figure a little bit after he appeared on the Flash tv show without even knowing it
Want to know what makes that Cable even more of a happy accident? A few days ago they announced a Marvel Capcom collection, which means the game with that version of Cable is getting a new release. Doesn't seem like they are doing any releases to line up with the Transformer Haslabs, we've had both the leaders from Victory, but the only other thing on the horizon is the Dinoking boxset that is going to be a convention exclusive. And we're not seeing much for RID 2001 to go with Omega Prime.
As a Ghost Rider/Midnight Sons fan I ordered the whole wave, but I wasn’t willing to drop $350 on the Haslab it was just too much money for what was offered
Ghost Rider is my favorite, hands down and even I punted on the expensive Haslab. It was too much money and while the figs included were kinda cool, it wasn't for me. I'm happy with my DST Mephisto in Throne flanked by ToyBiz Blackheart who still holds up pretty nicely. Plus I pulled the trigger on the Ramen Racer which was half the price of the Haslab and is gorgeous. 🔥💀🔥
I am set upset that the Engine of Vengeance didn't happen but the wave is still pretty good on it's own. In fact that Hellverine is kind of a happy accident on it's own given we are getting a new miniseries about that version of the character, so prefect time to get a toy.
I'd also suggest the Strange Tales wave was made because the MCU Blade movie was supposed to be out by now. I believe the character of Lilith was in a draft of the script, which might explain why they chose to make that new character for the line.
It's definitely possible, but despite comic Blade occasionally fighting this Lilith as a Midnight Son...I gotta think the *other* Marvel Lilith would have been more appropriate due to bring Dracula's daughter. I sort of think this Lilith (much like Daimon Hellstrom) was considered for an offering of the Engine of Vengeance Haslab. She's a hell of a lot more tied to the lore of that Haslab then Madeline Pryor, etc. Perhaps they couldn't prep her in time for potentially being added in as a Tier and I know many gun shy GR fans who might have finally backed it if Lilith was included.
Regarding Mephistopheles though. McFarlane just sold a figure of Black Atom villain Sabbac at retail, which his look is basically the devil with horns and the figure actually had the Satanic star on his chest. So it may just be that Hasbro is against selling Mephisto because of his chromosome being the devil, but yet a devil type character can sell at retail if produced like Sabbac.
Yeah definitely supposed to have been out Fall of 2023, so this wave is a year later. "This crowdfunded project will run from September 16, 2022, to 11:59pm ET on October 31, 2022. If successful, the project will begin shipping around Fall 2023."
I agree with you, that's not the version that I remember of Dracula, I do remember that Dracula has a red armor on Bram Stoker Coppola movie, but in that case, they should add an alt head with a more classic look. Juat to have a more wide range of sales. The thing with Cable is complicated, bc they said they gonna release a figure of Cable in the next X-97 wave, but at the same time this new Cable is more focus on Jada Toys Street fighter figures, the same with Blackheart.
If they are willing to sell Daimon Hellstrom at retail with his name loud and proud on the package and his pentagram on his chest for all to see, I think they would sell Mephesto if the mood struck.
It's funny you mentioned this today. Apparently, McFarlane has an Ambush bug figure that just came out because I just saw it today in a store. But I haven't thought about Ambush bug in years and it comes up twice today.
I hate, HATE, Marvel’s redesign of their Vampires. Dracula looks like some sort of Dark Elf and Lilith looks like I don’t know what… some kind of evil Conehead?
Yeah i mean its meant to compliment the Haslab but you act like they wouldn't have made Blackheart if they knew it wouldnt fund lmao which is ridiculous. 1 Marvel vs Capcom is super popular right now 2 people were gonna want him once that 85th Dan Ketch Rider comes out in September and 3 Blackheart was already made by Toybiz and they want to make all the characters they did.
I'm glad the Engine of Vengeance Haslab failed. It was overpriced and many people agreed on this. Those same people backed the project and blindly supported Hasbro. Despite the continued agreement (by many of those same fans) that modern product isn't fairly priced for waht you get. Hopefully Hasbro can learn that not every Haslab will be backed, and that prices on said Haslabs need to go down.
Lilith was the baddie for that XCom-style videogame, Marvel's Midnight Sons. In fact, she looks really similar to this version. Idk, just responding to ppl asking abt why they chose her. She still sux, bur there is a property tie-in. Good vid, Guru. Take it ez
I want a Hasbro Gene Colan Dracula, dammit! And isnt Hellstrom supposed to have a cape? Oh, well, they got me to preorder Moon Knight (i'm a completist there), the rest is a soft pass.

The only RID 01 figures being Sideburn and Towline sucks, considering the fact their releases don't line up with Omega Prime.
@animatedCHUG there's Scourge too

I would love to know your current thoughts of the MOTU Origins line and Turtles of Grayskull line.

I'm pretty sure this happened with the GI Joe Retaliation toy line. the toys got released, but the movie was very delyed.
I'd also suggest the Strange Tales wave was made because the MCU Blade movie was supposed to be out by now. I believe the character of Lilith was in a draft of the script, which might explain why they chose to make that new character for the line.

Blackheart is a BAF? I guess I need to buy the old one again. probably more affordable.
You missed the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider jito!!
Wasn’t the EOV supposed to come out last year in the fall. Did they push back the strange tales wave then

Oh well Scot isn't one to get too bogged down in the facts if it ruins a good bit of "insider knowledge"
What's the issue with selling the Devil at retail? You didn't link to a video about it!
Thanks man
Cool

I’m waiting for Rachel Summers too!
We gotta finish Excalibur!

👍
Scott:
Why, when you were in charge of the Mattel DCU Classics, you never made an AMBUSH BUG figure?
It's funny you mentioned this today. Apparently, McFarlane has an Ambush bug figure that just came out because I just saw it today in a store. But I haven't thought about Ambush bug in years and it comes up twice today.
Maybe Ambush Bug would have been annoying to create new head parts for? Or no one thought he was popular enough to be worth having a figure.
I think this is a boring wave 👋. Unless it's a harbinger for hascrap to do a ' classic ' strange tales monster 👋😂❤
Oh great... a Blackheard build-a-figure that I want, but I have no interest in the individual figures that his parts come with!
Talk about not selling devil characters, yet they sold Darth Maul.
Not quite a devil character. If you would've went with Black Adam's villain Sabbac, that did make it to retail, then you'd have a better argument.

Is it Just me....or does Nobody else realize how HUGE Cable is supposed to be? He's 6'8...That's Taller than Thor...just saying.
His Mezco figs are short too
from that new Marvel legends wave I'm mostly interested in Ghostrider Wolverine and Dracula (for Shiklah) and Cable....still need a deadpool

Please God stop saying "Capcon" it's Cap-COM
Black Widow figures in a white costume is demonstrates everything wrong with the MCU
