I bought this Hoover* Smartwash* Carpet Washer last year to clean the Floor of the Apartment that Me and My Brother stay in. Since March of 2015, We have had major Stains in the Carpet left over by the Former Tenant, and thought that those Stains trapped in the Carpet would never come out. When I bought the Hoover* Smart Wash*, I also bought the Deep-Cleaning Stain-Removing Foam for the Carpet, knowing that this would be what would help get Deeply-Imbedded Stains out much easier. I put the Deep-Cleaning Foam down where the Stains were, then I scrubbed the Foam into each Stain as instructed with a Scrubbing Attachment that came with the Carpet Washer. After waiting over Fifteen Minutes to allow the Foam to break the Stains down, I used the Carpet Washer to clean the Carpet. I did not expect the Floor to be so Dirty that I had to use the Hoover* Smart Wash* Four Times! After dumping the Dirty Water into the Toilet, I noticed that every single time, the Water became so dark that I could not see through it! But more importantly, the Imbedded Stains in the Carpet came out! The Carpet became lighter, the constant Odor in the Carpet was removed, and the Hot Water Cleaning Solution really helped to draw out the remaining Water from the Carpet when pulling the Carpet Washer slowly Backward to draw out the remaining Water. Within Three Hours, the Capet was dry enough to walk on with One's Bare Feet. That's Impressive! Thanks Hoover!
I just used mine for the first time. Wow, it does a great job. Just go slow in both forward and backwards motion, as the machine needs time to clean and extract! My carpet was still damp afterwards, but no big deal. I just turned on my 2 ceiling fans and opened the windows.
I purchased this exact unit and used it for the first time today. I like this unit. I have always used hoover carpet cleaners and this unit is a definite improvement in design and ease of use. Our carpet looks fantastic.
I've had this same one for about four to five years and it works exceptionally good I love it but now it seems like the belt is broke and I read up on it and it said the only way to fix the belt you have to send the whole unit back in I don't want to be bothered with that.
I just bought the same one and I will be using it tomorrow. I went with the Hoover over the Bissell, so it's nice to see that you were pleased with the results.
@@L3gion3r I use the Hoover solution but I'm sure Bissell or any other brand name would work. I would however avoid the no name brands because some are diluted.
Just go into dry mode and go over it a few times and I normally have a dry carpet in about an hour and a half, and I even take out the solution tank and do a rinse and the carpet gets fluffy and looks great after

It's actually very easy to fix your old machine. When facing it, open that cover near the pile height slider. Inside you'll see a mesh screen. Is it clogged with lint and or pet hair? Clear it and the brushes will spin again.
It sounds like you have some no how I'm carpet cleaners. I wondering if I could get your input. I just purchased the same machine. I used it on the carpets and a couple pc of furniture. I want to use it today to do a couch And I cannot get any section on the attachment or the furniture.I made sure everything was secure,Cleared out the hose to make sure there was no blockage,And check the passage way on the machine and on the attachment itself and all Is clear. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Having trouble with this cleaner. Only used it twice and from the first time the dry vacuum quits sucking after about 1 min. It will not restart either . It’s clean but it makes a sucking shut sound when I turn the dry on to suck the water up. Got any ideas?
if the spin scrubs air powered brush aint spining usually you can take a flat head screw driver take off the brush an spin it that way to loosen up the rust or whatever could try to take off the clear cover that covers the filter screen on it but the old steamvac spin scrub is way to better then the new much cheaper in design carpet cleaner nowadays
Your fixing the 14 year old Hoover stem vac right? As far as the brushes not spinning it's the Turbine assembly. If it was the motor the machine would not work at all if the motor went POOF.

Pul them out see if anything is binding them. Sometimes thread will wrap around where they connect at. Also may be the bearings in the roller. Common problem. Good luck Dom.

You must have high-pile carpet that is engaging the stall protection keeping the rollers from spinning. Ours worked with the front roller in - that's it.

Netta Washington make sure all the the things that go on are clipped all the way in place. Maybe that’s it
