Ten minutes later.
The team comes back to find Bodger having a beer with the dragon as he pours out his soul and talks about his failed marriage and how he took a P.I. job to pay child support to be a good father.
"Hey dragon do you have deep rooted trauma that we can make you cry with?"

How was your relationship with your father? Did you ever accidentaly *kill/cripple someone that you loved? What about shapeshifting, did you perhaps ever turn into another species for fun only to fall in love with a shorter lived being that died off leaving you alone for eternity? In my games, 0 and 0 is 100. You can't roll a 0 on any other dice, so why should you on a d100?

I super appreciate Rob's dedication. Cross dressing and voices and remembering accents of various things and characters he has covered.
Ok, so Rowan tried to see if they can turn these checkers in controlled environment, however Rob gave away an important piece of information, Ben needs to really want to have better roll, so the only times those checkers can be flipped will be in combat.
Good to know that I'm not the only one to notice that.

Desperate bad rolls indeed
in this eposide there is one flipped outside of combat after he failed his wisdom save. So it seems more like a flip when Ben rolls low and (thinks) the roll is important (hence the question if Ben thinks winning at hopscotch is really important to him when he rolls low on that).
I feel like this is either really good or really bad; in my head Bob will crit when those tokens are all flipped- but idk it it'll be a crit fail or a blessing of a good crit that absolutely comes with a cost 🤔
Rob puts hours and hours into building a beautiful D&D story the likes of which are comparable to the most beautiful and comprehensive museum full of wonders. The party spends half their time bumbling around the lobby.

As a Canadian, I have never heard that word. We did have what could be described as soft hail 2 days ago though. Although, since I am in Newfoundland, I expect I could find a local word for it in the Dictionary of Newfoundland English.
As a German, I also approve of Rob‘s use of the word „graupel“. This is the spelling of the word in german, so Bob really has a point when he says: „The weather turns german?“

I was having a hard time following why Rowan seemed angry. In fact he seemed angry even a few episodes back when it was clear Bodger’s axe had a hold on his mind. Then all through this episode he looked pissed. Even when he was being funny, he had the look of a man who is sort of humoring a group or situation he’s mad at.
Yeah, the rest of the group is great, but I'm disliking Rowan here
For anyone else struggling with the description of "soft hail", graupel is basically hail but the grains of ice are no larger than (at most) the pellets of a BB gun. So yeah, it's still ice, meaning they are just as hard as regular hail but because they are too small to hurt anyone or damage anything, which is probably why Rob's described them as "soft hail", which in turn is what got Bob confused.
I don't know if Rob will read this comment but I have a question for him:
When Baradun decrypts some of Yarris's documents, did you already have what they contained in case he tried to decrypt them, or did you just have a general idea and improvised everything on the spot? Because I am increasingly impressed with your storytelling skills!

I just realized the benefit of being able to do editing with this. If the guys get in a bad spot in a fight you can pause there and pick it back up in a week with them hearing a battlecry coming in the distance

Poor Ben. I always rule 0 0 as 100 on a percentile check. 0-99 feels uneven to me, and 0 is 10 on a single die so it makes sense to me to treat double 0 0 as max roll too. Admittedly it is funny to read it as 0 given Ben's dice curse. But I feel so bad for him seeing him punished for what I observe as the max roll.
Totally agree. On every single die it's 1 to max i.e. a 6-sided die is 1 - 6 so why change that when it comes to the percentile check? There has even been made a 100-sided die and guess what - it's 1 - 100 (no zero).
I was so happy for Bobs awesome roll..... maybe Rob changed the rules on the fly for the fun of it - it's a curse after all :D
@@pawlundgreen3148 yep, same here. 0 & 0 is 100. Effectively you're rolling a d100 here. My cousin has an actual d100, which is numbered 1 through 100. No zero, just like any other dice!
It's a poor DM who has 0,0 die roll as 0%. For last 47 years 0,0 in D&D has been 100%. Robert comes along and screws it.

Rob asked Ben how important it was to him to win that hopscotch game. that makes me believe that in order for things to happen with the checkers he has to want something to happen. Just waiting for more episodes now to see how this plays out

Well i think he asked him that because he knew Rowan was trying to play the system 😅 pretty sure if Ben wanted it to matter he would flip the checker, Bob jas to roll 5 or less i believe in order to get a checker flipped, really think he might turn crazy soon :D

I love that they came up with a cute idea of why at the end of this adventure that Domino will not continue on with the group because he will stay behind to date the Mayor. At least this is what I think is going to happen.

As was established previously. Ben did say about dice that "they are all the same, it is just dice" or something like that. And so, from that time, they have taken grudge on him and now they punish him for his words. There is a legend that say, that once he learn his lesson, they will stop.
Also I really want to know, what he turns into after the last token turns...
My guess (and possible spoiler alert) is that he's turned into a puppet of shorts of whoever was controlling the voracious quake.

I've played with that feat. Coming up with new material every single day is harder than you'd think... And I was even playing a retired history teacher who wanted to make history instead of just learning about it. I ended up just saying "I recount a famous battle that was narrowly won through vigor and determination" or something similar
Can we just take a moment to consider just how much work Rob must have put into this world and campaign? I truly hope he gets a lot of entertainment and fun out of the game just as much as the rest of the team!

Simple DM tricks to instill fear in players, that's and random rolls without meanings. Then when you decide it's time, you drop the ball and unleash hell (might be quite litteral for the poor bob and the shadow/demon influence accumulating since the giant in the cave)
