  • Leaving Cobram Vic, we continue to explore the length of the Murray River we called in to some of the most amazing campsites and beaches right on the river! To end up at the town that probably the most often associated with the Murray, Echuca. Come and join us as we share our experience of the free camping options we found,
We have been visiting Echuca for as long as we can remember and it still is a captivating place to visit, from walking through the old Port Of Echuca town to the views of the haunting whistle sounds from the Paddle Steamers lining the river, there is never a shortage of sights and sounds!
And for all of those following our trip along the Murray River thank you for joining us it has been great to share this with you. Please note we will be taking a short break from this trip while we do some grandparenting over the school holidays, but we will be back on deck in a couple of weeks to continue this adventure. Thanks for stopping by
UPDATE: Tocumwal Town Beach is now a paid campground, not by donation, run by the local council. Still great value at $7.50 per person per night. Here is a link to the online booking system tocumwallifestyle.com.au/town... Thanks for the update ‪@To_Travel_We_Must‬

Great video! Enjoy the family in Melbourne. When you head back to Echuca its worth going to Mathoura its around 40kms north of Echuca. Then another 7 kms to the river you will end at the Picnic point caravan park. Its worth staying there a night with a camp fire of course. There is the timber cutter restaurant and retreat across the road which is well worth for a good feed and including a view of the Murray. The town of Mathoura is worth a look as well, as it is almost a ghost town. On the way to the caravan park from town you will see the bird hide on the right which is also worth a look. You can get drinking water at the towns filtration plant just outside of town on the way to the caravan park. As the caravan park does have powered sites and showers toilets but the water is from the Murray. I know the place well as for years we took the kids there with friends during the summer holidays, camping. Enjoying the series looking forward to more content!

Hi, I have been following your channel for some time now. Love the way you talk and the way you structure your videos - light, informative and engaging. We are also in Melbourne. Love to camp along the Murray and proud owners of Evernew caravan (older one). Would you have any time to meet in person? Well done, Paul and Wenda. You just happened to visit my favourite camping spots, Echuca and Carters Beach. And you got to see the koalas, which is a bonus. The only thing with Tocumwal is that the best time to visit is during the off-season when it's quiet. You don't want to be there on a long weekend-it's not much fun. Thanks for the video, and I look forward to catching up soon.

With the greatest respect, you both had me rolling on the floor with your reviews of Tocumwal and Carters Beach. From Christmas to Easter they are Bogan Central with hardly enough space to open ypur van door. You wouldn't get me stay there with a gun to my head. You were certainly fortunate/lucky with your timing.

Hey guys, Tocumwal town-beach is not a free camp or by donation. you pay.. $7.50 per person per night. I spoke to one of the committee members.. There is an online booking site.. the council handed over the management to the committee to upgrade and improve the facilities.. hence the town water taps and sullage pits.. The toilet block is in the planning.. You deleted my previous post? I provided the link to their online booking system.
