Little finger is right for wearing panna. Also i believe that right hand is of karma and hence i suggest right hand for the stone

Thank u for such detailed info...have heard about feeding green moong daal to birds everyday to stregthen mercury, will that also work? Though I give bajra to birds on daily basis but that has been a daily routine and not because of any astrological reasons.
You should wear green and if possible eat the green moong dal on Wednesdays.
If mercury is lagna lord or benefic then you should never donate items related to mercury, instead u should use them. For example wear green clothes, consume green moong, wear emerald or onyx. If mercury is malefic (lord of 6,8,12) or is placed in 6,8,12 then you should donate instead of using them in your daily life. Cuz if you donate items of benefic mercury then you actually weakening benefic result of that planet. Donated only for malefic planets. I did the same mistake, but I corrected it soon. Whats your lagna?
