Kiki is a pain in the ass.she got gypsy so wound up here today. She can't get along with anyone. She fights with chappy also. She doesn't look after little Riki like orangutangs mothers do. He is often left alone and for others to love and play with. Gypsy is really pissed off today. Gypsy is quite the scrapper!!! One tough old broad. Lol!
Agreed, but this is actually an incredible zoo. It's in Tokyo, Japan, and is called Tama zoo. They are actually world famous for their Orangutan and Chimpanzee facilities. They have 3 or 4 different outdoor enclosures for each, and several indoor ones also. The staff provides incredible enrichment to keep the primates active, and inquisitive. There is some metal used in the towers and huge jungle Gym area, where they can keep busy climbing around all day. I don't see how they could build the towers without metal. I also hate zoo's that just throw such intelligent creatures into outdoor prison cells, with metal bars and concrete floors. It's mental torture, which can cause irreversible psychological damage to any primate kept in these conditions for any extended period of time. It can have the same effect on orangutans, as an extended period of solitary confinement can have on humans.

If one really wanted to help orangutans they could stop buying palm oil and boycott any company actively supporting these palm farms in Indonesia. Then move on to illegal logging and gold mining. Support companies that are conscious of the orangutans plight and have taken steps to remedy this issue. Our cousins shouldn’t go extinct because we can’t put down the margerine etc etc.
Stinky Pinky Riki is too young to be beating himself off here. He is just going through the motions like most human boys do at this age. A lot of human children often fondle themselves at this young age because it feels good and they are getting accustomed to their bodies. It was funny though!
