Underrated channel.
Wow, many thanks!!
Finally some English....
Thanks, I get some hate for it at times 😄
@@pfb85 for real lol.
metalsadman , yeah. Every few videos I get remarks on that I should speak Tagalog since we are in the Philippines. Like I am somehow trying to appear better than others by speaking in English.
Well, firstly I don’t speak fluent Tagalog unfortunately, secondly youtube is a global platform and thirdly only half of my viewers are based in the PH. Hehe, that’s life.
@@pfb85 ignore the hate bro! No hate towards tagalog, but honestly if your video is meant to help others, a universal language would be best, that is if you can! keep up the great work! definitely sticking to the xsr once i get my license!
Abryan Smith , thanks dude 🙂
Nice review bro.👍 Thanks for doing it in English.
Thanks man 🙂
I've got the dilemma in choosing between this and the MT-15. The XSR I rented had a really weak rear brake, definitely weaker than the MT, which I found a big disadvantage for when I'm inching along in Saigon heavy traffic, I don't want to have to go to the front brake at such low speeds. I agree it's less comfortable than it looks. I kind of felt that I fit better onto the MT and had more confidence in cornering on that. The obvious downside for the MT would be the lack of pillion seat but then I'd probably just use my Vario, which is really nice as a passenger and a hell of a lot easier to drive in stop-start traffic.
Thanks for the input. Did not notice a difference in rear brakes so that is an interesting observation. The MT seems to be a better fit for you, I agree. The pillion part is not a problem for you since you have a scooter as well 🙂
Sana all talaga 😘
Nice review. 🙂
Thanks! 😊
So beautiful my favourite bike😍
It is a nice one 🙂
A great video with lots of useful information. I'm just about to buy one and the only downside I see is the lack of ABS, question is will I be able to get ABS retro fitted if and when Yamaha bring out an ABS model. Is the aftermarket fitting of ABS a common practice I would appreciate comments? Can't wait another 12 months for the possibility of an ABS model, what are your thoughts. This bike has been in the Philippines since 2016 and I still think they do NOT have ABS on their latest models? P.S. I don't think I've even ever owned a bike with ABS 🤔. One other point I believe the back light on the speedo/clock is adjustable.
Hi! I don't think it's common practice to add ABS aftermarket in the Philippines, therefore unsure of the possibility. The XSR 155 has only been around since 2020 I believe, you might be referring to the MT-15 which is more or less the same bike though.
Understand waiting for ABS might not be an option, we can't even be sure that the next model released will have ABS as that might lead to an increase in SRP which would be a stretch considered the current SRP.
With no abs you just have to ride slow and careful. That's why I'm all for the speed limit discipline. After all with or without it, it's only 2 wheels. It all depends on the rider.
I also think ABS is important, depends on the rider skill but always better to have this.
It's made for city commuting..
nice video buddy, i am on the verge of buying either XSR or W175 kawasaki here in phuket. what do you think? i am also beginner in the manual bike world and would like to have retro style looking bike to cruise around the beach:)
Thanks man!
The W175 is more or less a Barako in disguise. With this you get a basic but highly reliable motorcycle which is cheap to maintain.
The XSR is a lot more modern in terms of technology and a lot more refined to ride.
They are both retro inspired in terms of looks but completely different to ride. Would depend what you would prefer 🙂
@@pfb85 Thanks for getting me back Paul, appreciate your efforts in this industry helping people understand all the small hidden details.
for my budget 2k-3k$ now I have this 2 available in Phuket buying direct from Dealer, I had the chance to test the W175 buy Yamaha doesn't offer that, I will go try again to see if I can find one to test and have the real feeling. Thanks again buddy
@@jackskal4302 , thanks for the kind words, always glad to help. Sounds like a plan, hopefully they let you test the XSR :-)
Nice review sir... Mind blowing again.... Can you also please review the gixxer 250 naked bike... Thanks and ride safe sir ..
Thank you! Would love to review a Gixxer 250, so far it's been hard to get a hold of one. If I do, I will definitely review it! It is a great option within it's segment.
That's one my choices sir... The good thing with gixxer it has an ABS. Which is very important, the down side is that it is still telescopic fork, oil cooled and no slipper clutch.
I'm having difficult times choosing which one is the best that fits for my personality. First choice is the MT 15, then XSR, Gixxer 250 and even bristol mostro 250. I need your help sir, please try to review the mostro 250 also. Thank you ride safe
I would go with safety as a priority.
When it comes to gixxer:
1. oil cooled - Suzuki is known for their high tech oil cooling system so don’t think its a problem.
2. Slipper clutch - nice to have but not necessary (in my opinion).
3. forks - this is a minor thing.
I think Yamaha and Suzuki has the advantage overall.
Any specific reason you like the Mostro?
Good news is you can hardly go wrong with the MT-15 or Gixxer 250.
Are you an experienced rider?
Sorry for the late reply sir... Mostro looks like mt 07 for me and it has a built in music and USB port which is cool, USD fork and ABS... But realibility and maintenance cost I have no idea.. I have a motorcycle (yamaha ytx 125) which I used for daily commute, went to the office and also lalamove. Hehheheh. I just want to upgrade sir that's why I need your help...
I have waited for 1 year to launch this bike in india but can't wait anymore,i am gonna buy new bike befor new year.
No launch in India iguess
Looking forward to buy this if it is launched in India. Here ABS is a compulsory norm. So may be they are resigning to comply with law.
Any idea when it will come here?
For me, round side mirror would be a better compliment, like that of honda rebel.
Not a bad idea, that would look good on the XSR
I’m almost 6 ft tall and 230 lbs. do you think it’s to small for me? I’ll be commuting in the city and some weekend province rides with the wife. Great review my friend.
For you it’s fine but with a pillion rider it will be quite cramped. Would generally be for all nakes bikes in this segment. If the weekend rides are bit too far it works 🙂
Super thanks
Glad it was helpful 🙂
Love from India 🇮🇳
For me. It is nice to buy a none abs xsr155 as a semi pro or pro rider.
That's a different story, definitely understand for highly skilled riders :-)
How about the feel of the shocks? I'm just curious.
It's slightly on the stiff side but ok for manila roads. Not uncomfortable
@@pfb85 oh, nice. Great! Thank you so much! ☺️
Ralph Jushua Gabay , no worries 🙂
Hi, between mt15 and xsr155, which one would you say is more passenger and carriage friendly?
I actually prefer Mt 15 for the looks but since I might chauffeur for my gf, I'm looking for other options.
Neither are great but XSR is better among the two with with a flat seat less elevated for the OBR compared to the MT-15
@@pfb85 ohhh. thanks for the reply. Didn't expect you'd reply so fast haha. Can you give me some 150cc naked bikes recommendations that has good pillion comfort? Honda cb150r looks nice but I really prefer an aggressive look like the mt15 haha
@@pfb85 bro make a detailed walkthrough video of Yamaha XSR 155 in English ,
If you're buying one of these bikes what would it be, Xsr 155 or Svartpilen 200?
Personally I would buy the Svartpilen, ABS matters to me and I like having a bike less people has (svartpilen newly released).
But is it a better bike than the XSR? Not really, more on personal preference. Both bikes are great
Can you make a review of HONDA CB150R? 😊
If I can get a hold of one I will 🙂
nice motorcycle
Hi does your XSR 155 have ABS? I'm confused. Some XSR 155 has ABS on them and some doesn't.
Hi! None of the XSR 155’s in the Philippines has ABS
@@pfb85 Thanks bro. That is the only downside to such a beauty of a bike. I don't get why it has no ABS as it has the same spec as MT15. 🤦
Zai Ariffin,
MT-15 does not have ABS either in the PH released units. I used to own one as well. Zigwheel.com often has wrong information. Yamaha website is best reference for locally released units 🙂
hello, would you recommend this motorcycle for edsa traffic? I'm new
@94KISU, yes it is light and nimble. Since it has a clutch it will not be as convenient as a scooter but within it’s segment it’s close to perfect 🙂
Hiw which is better nmax or this xsr 155
Planning to buy, which is good for a ride automatic or clutch?
For every day use and commute a scooter is always easier and more practical. Riding a clutch requires more effort.
Both great bikes just depends on what you prefer. I generally prefer riding with a clutch but I don’t ride everyday in heavy traffic.
Wow
How is the brake. ?? Does it skit as there is no abs?
Breaks are good, I have not pressed them too hard and sudden to notice the lack of ABS though.
Is this viable for long rides? Say, Manila to Bicol, or Baguio..I’m guessing I would have to get XSR700 for the latter. Thanks!
Yes it would be viable, can always do service roads.
Seat is a bit on the firmer side though, but guess it depends on what you are used to.
But the bike itself can easily manage long trips.
@@pfb85 thank you! Hard to choose between this and the interceptor from RE.
JinWoo , oh really? Completely different price range, hehe. Love the interceptor! Has so many options to customize
@@pfb85 I love the look of the xsr155 but when I saw the mods you can do with the interceptor, I got interested. I know they have diff price range, but I don’t mind waiting and saving up more money should I ever decide to go with RE. It’ll be my first bike haha.
JinWoo , worth saving up for. The interceptor is quite big and heavy so worth practicing on a smaller bike first. Besides that, go for it 🙂
Hi is this bike advisable for someone like me? Newbie and just about to learn how to drive.
Hi! I would say yes it’s beginner friendly.
May I ask how tall you are?
Ideally it would have ABS in this price range, besides that it’s a great option.
@@pfb85 Im 5'5, but I think close to 5'6. Im 32 and still dont know how to drive hahaha I gonna look for driving school
You’re height and age is fine 🙂. Bike is lightweight which is good. If you enroll to riding school you will manage perfectly fine, go for it!
Full support
Thanks!
@@pfb85 new vlogger here too
Master Asher10 , nice. Saudi related vlogs?
Does the lack of ABS prevents this bike to be a newbie rider friendly?
Difficult to answer, it is newbie friendly in all other areas. I would go with an option with ABS personally. Great bike though
Is this good for weekend long drives? Beginner rider here
It’s fine, seats a bit on the firm side for me but depends on preference. Riding position is comfortable
For comfort just Put a Tyre tube on the seat inflate it with air. Redo it and You will good.
thanks for the comment!
I'm really confused that google reviews says that XSR155 has ABS but some say it doesnt have but other says it has. A single channel ABS was mentioned.
Philippine version (XSR Standard) does not have ABS unfortunately. They might have released ABS version in other countries.
Yamaha PH site states all specs of the locally released units. Wish we got the ABS version but they might have priced it higher
@@pfb85 thanks for clearing that out! appreciated it 😊
No problem 🙂
@@pfb85 In Indonesia, they also did not put an ABS on 2020 nor 2021 version.
@@freddjensen9556 , Aww really, that's too bad.
Where can I find this bike in the US? Also, is it really under $4,000 USD?
Don't think it's sold in the US. - only the XSR900 and XSR700... The 155 would be too slow for riding on US highways, other than a little bit. I've read that the XSR155 can reach about 86 mph, but it takes a LONG time to get there. I wonder if Yamaha will make an XSR300 and/or XSR500
Which bike is better for overtaking? Mt15 or xsr155?
Thanks.
Did not feel much difference. The MT15 felt a bit more nimble.
@@pfb85 which bike is better overall? Thanks
@@vic1018 , they are practically the same bike so I would choose the one I like design of. I prefer the xsr 🙂
Can I change my XSR 155 Speedo from Kilometers to MPH? If so how please?
Sorry not sure
How good is the bike for long drives?
It’s ok, seating position comfortable but seat too firm for long rides, it’s more on the sporty side
M fan of dis bike... Bt in india yamaha doesn't seem to release dis bike... 125 also fine yaar...
Target release in India is Dec 2021 🙂
@@pfb85 no they are planning another retro called fzx
nikbooster1 , really? Interesting, do you have a source I can check out?🙂
On bikedekho.com and zigwheels.com they stated launch date in India for the XSR 155 to be Dec 2021.
Great video..I am waiting for it to get launch in India.
thanks! Yeah, many are waiting 🙂
@@pfb85 😢😢
11:58 just as you finish mentioning the lack of abs 2 jaywalkers think about walking in front of you.
Hehe, the timing. Especially when its raining the ABS is very handy
Other similar style-ish motocycles: cbr150, gpx legend 150, mad 200, brixton bx150, gentlement, w75
In which country? Don’t think we have those options in the Philppines except the cbr150 🙂
@@pfb85 in singapore there is a UK brand called "Mutt Motorcycle!!!"
@@blackenskatography9928 , cool!
is xsr 155 can be convenient to the passenger? for 22 KM daily?
Hi! The passenger has decent comfort. Definitely better than the MT-15 as you sit level with the rider rather than elevated. I guess it depends on how long it takes you to ride the 22KM :-)
Anyone puts a top box on this bike?
Waiting for this motorcycle to launch in India😭
Yeah, believe it is scheduled for Dec 2021 release?
Keep waiting. hehe
Ultimately, India got Yamaha FZX

How's the vibration on xsr155?
Minimal, some at high revs but nothing major
Just wanna ask to buy or not to buy
It's a great option, can't really go wrong. Easy to ride, reliable and beautiful to look at.
Are you considering any other options?
What is top speed that you went got?
Hi Fredd, sorry did not test the top speed. Think the highest I went was around 100 KPH
it is around 135 km
@@samarthmali4936 quite fast enough for 155cc motorcycle
Sir,is this bike made for riding long distance around(223 km) a day
No, feel the seat is too firm/hard for that, not ideal. At the same time, I don’t think any bike in this segment is made for rides that long but it can handle the distance of course 🙂. A lot of riders have ridden this even farther in a day
I like it... I like it... and I think I can afford it :)
Go for it! 🙂
is this safe for beginners?
Yes, easy to manage. Very beginner friendly
Sir is xsr 155 is a 2 seater bike?
Yes, can seat 2
what is the fuel consumption of xsr 155?
Based on the feedback from owners it seems to be around 30-35 km per liter.
@@pfb85 wow, so low!
is it 1 down 5 up?
Yes correct
I wish Yamaha launch this Yamaha xsr 155 to Australia. 🙄
Yeah true
Hii can i ask if, is it fit to those 5'5 in height? Thank you
Hi! You will be on your toes, if you are a relatively experienced rider it should be fine. Still recommend sitting on one.
The bike is quite light so I think at 5'5 you should be fine :-)
XSR 300 with ABS would be the perfect city bike. 155cc is simply not enough...
Thanks for the comment. 300cc would be good but personally think 155cc is enough in Manila traffic specifically.
What about mileage ?
It gets around 35km per liter in mixed heavy/moderate traffic so it's pretty good.

Did I ride in the bicycle lane or failed to ride in bike (motorcycle) lane?
Diba single channel abs yan?
No, unfortunately not. At least the unit released in the Philippines. I checked both Yamaha PH site as well as zigwheels.ph
Believe the PH XSR 155 is released without ABS to keep the SRP down.
Motodeal review also states that it does not come with ABS.
On Zigwheels.com it says that the XSR comes with ABS but not for which country.
@@pfb85 sad, japanese backbone 150cc bikes that got released here don't have abs :(. Svart 200 seems to be the choice, but i'm concerned with the reliability and cost of ownership. Ty for the rev and reply.

Svartpilen is a good option. Maintenance wise Yamaha still has the edge, but what a headturner the svartpilen is!

ABS is not an issue... If you really know how to ride your own bike...
Respectfully disagree. The more skilled the less chance it would be needed, but in that one case you react wrongly can be critical. Overconfidence in our riding skills can be one of them.
But of course, it’s up to us individually if we consider it important or not. Most riders in this price range are definately not "highly skilled" even though you personally might be.
Very Big issue most especially on novice levels.
Though it will remove the ability to learn how to break properly in-order not to skid, or over breaking (suddenly stopping from a certain momentum is never good).
No good bike,,,NO ABS BRAKE SYSTEM...
That is the main thing lacking, unfortunately
