      Kelis should not have been on this list with Milkshake, it might have charted higher than Bossy. Technically, Bossy is the bigger hit in terms of actual sales. Milkshake only went Platinum, while Bossy went 2 times Platinum.

      @@cherry560 after doing a little research the number one song didn't even go platinum. Was just super popular. At least according to Wikipedia. Personally for me milkshake should have been top 10 because I only knew 10 songs out of all these. 2 songs 20-11 and 8 songs 10-1. The list is about play time and popularity not albums sold and awards.

      i mean you can have multiple songs that are technically hits. a one hit wonder ahs one that stands out way more. they basically just known for that song despite having maybe another one or two hits that didnt reach the height of that hit.

      @@raiden3013 Then that isn't a one-hit wonder. Vanessa Carlton has 4 top 100 hits. All but one of those made it to the top 50. That's 2 more in the top 50 than Jimi Hendrix ever had, but he isn't considered a one-hit wonder. Hell, he only ever made it to 20. Radiohead only have 2 in the top 50. Pink Floyd only cracked the top 50 twice. Nirvana only had 1 more song in the top 100 than Vanessa Carlton. Same with Village People.
      Bowling for Soup had 3 top 100 hits. The Darkness had 3. Augustana had 2. Blu Cantrell had 2. 2 is greater than 1 last time I checked.
      You probably think Rick Astley is a one-hit wonder too.
      WatchMojo does this in a lot of their lists. They present distorted truths. I used to love this channel, but their research and misinformation is getting worse and worse.

      A one hit wonder is defind as a band that only had one chart topping hit that people still remember. Those groups can still be famous in other countries, they can still have other songs people remember, and they can still have good music careers. The general public doesn't know music from Phineas and Herb, nor did any of those songs top the charts lol.

    I used to like Stacy's Mom when I was a kid, just because of the beat and music. Then as I grew up I actually started paying attention to lyrics, now I can't listen to it without feeling awkward.

      @@julesstephenson8935 yes I did I took i from the red wall series . More special first sequel to the original red wall mattimeo which was the third book release chronological. Sadly with Jacques dead the series is dead outside of the fan fiction community. Mouse guard is the closet thing we know have to red wall it’s that our the cartoon series for red wall which didn’t last very long it was only three 13 episode season. It’s weird when it comes to franchise what they will all the suddenly they stopped making thing for a franchise the renew our rebuilt. They stop making red wall book after Jacques death . but then all of sudden one of the stream services buy the rights to bunnicula it ends up with a seven season cartoon series.

      @@slagarcrue85 I thought it was from Mattimeo, but couldn’t remember for sure. I discovered Redwall through the animated series as a little kid, then started to read the books. I remember for sure reading Martin the Warrior, Redwall, getting most of the way through Lord Brocktree before I had to return it to the school library, and some of Mattimeo. I absolutely agree, it’s very unfortunate that he passed, I have loved that universe most of my life

    Teenage Dirtbag may just be that song that ticked all the boxes for angsty high schoolers of that era. Yet, I was still in middle school when I watched the video and heard this song on the radio, but I digress. But if anyone really feels old now, my suggestion is to check out The Story of Teenage Dirtbag on Vice's CZcams channel. You'll definitely enjoy it. The frontman of Wheatus appears throughout the episode. Won't spoil anything here. Happy watching!

    My 23yr old daughter just saw Bowling for Soup perform at a music fest yesterday, lol. She had a blast, brought me home a CD. She and her 20 yr old sister grew up listening to them sing the opening song for Phineas and Ferb.

    I totally would have had, My Friends Over You, by New Found Glory on this list. Yes, they were pretty well known in the Pop-Punk Scene but My Friends Over You was really their only song to have widespread mainstream success. Just looking at on CZcams, My Friends Over You has like almost 5x the views of their next most viewed song.

    Love that Augustana song. For Alien Ant Farm, I prefer Movies personally but they did a good cover of Smooth Criminal.

    Kelis should not have been on this list with Milkshake, it might have charted higher than Bossy. Technically, Bossy is the bigger hit in terms of actual sales. Milkshake only went Platinum, while Bossy went 2 times Platinum.

      I think it’s about not being able to match the success because many artist on the list have had decent careers they’ve just never been able to reproduce the level of success that the one hit had. Like Caught Out There wasn’t that big of a hit, it had decent numbers. People really didn’t know Kelis until Milkshake unless you were actually into music.

    Anna Nalick Breath (2 am) is my favorite one hit from that time. I don't think she had another. Gray's Anatomy use it in their musical episode.
