- As we say goodbye to 2.1 and welcome the long awaited update 2.2, I thought there would be no better way to end my Geometry Dash 2.1 demon-beating journey than to play this masterpiece.
Change of Scene by Bli is an easy demon that blew my expectations out of the water. This was very highly requested to the point of skepticism, but this was a fantastic experience. I'm not really a fan of bossfight levels, but this is a pretty great way to go about it. It mixes its flow gameplay into its bossfight-like themes very effectively. All while being one of the most optimized levels I've ever played. It has an astounding object count of around 69k which is incredible.
If Bli sees this video, you did a phenomenal job. I'm not familiar with much of your work but I can safely say I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for what you do next.

Just so you know the “ldm” isn’t actually an ldm. This was made for the discord gauntlet contest where the rule was each entry must have 2 modes, the click at the beginning changes the mode.
What does it change

@@SomeCowguy the normal mode have all the elements being inanimated, such as being made of cardboard, being pixelated, and it seems like you are consuming media like movies or video games. In the "imagination" mode, those elements come to life and become real, the dragon is now alive, the octopus attacks you, etc. You are now part of what you were watching, your imagination is now alive.
no the ldm is an actual ldm just clicking at the start changes it either way

The dual bug allows one icon to be pushed far ahead of another one
Put these two together, and you get a backwards icon

Glad you played this. For all the annoying hype it may get from five year olds, it is a genuinely amazing level, and the fact that it’s under 80K objects total is nuts.

also just wanted to let you know, the tap to bring your imagination to life thing when you don't tap, it doesn't bring the cardboard monsters to life, so when you tap it brings them to life, it's not really a LDM.
I see. It seemed less detailed and as if it required fewer objects. But that makes the whole imagination thing make more sense.

I have to be honest, the level looks incredible! The deco is INSANE and the fact that its less than 80k objects is pretty impressive.
Pretty sure it uses text objects and unicode characters for the majority of the decor. You can kind of see repetetive string patterns on some of the deco at the beginning

The Matrix/backwards part works like the following: you use a mirror portal to mirror your screen, use a move trigger to move the blocks towards Where the icon is looking and boom: its done.

2:11 basically its a mirror portal, but the gameplay is moving in the opposite direction you are at twice the speed your going so it gives the illusion that your moving foreward
Nope. It is a mirror portal, and it is moving backwards, but the reason why it isn't on the other side of the screen is because there is a glitch with the dual portal where you can have both of the cubes on a different y-axis than normal, also explaining why the ship was so heavy.

nope, if you play close attention you can see the icon's color 1 and color 2 switch after entering it, this definitely a dual.

The, how you called it, "Low detail mode" isn't low detail at all. It's one of 2 possible ways to beat this level. It's an entry to the didcord gauntlet, which had the requirement for every level to have 2 possible ways to beat it.

The part where you are going backwards i think they put a mirror portal and then made the level move the same way you where facing to give it the illusion of you going backwards

fun fact: the dual ship is actually just upside down ship physics on both of the ships. so the normal gravity ship is lighter than upside down ship
you can test it by making a macro of a ship straight fly and then change the gravity and see the ship veer off course
At 2:12 this works with a glitch in duel mode and slopes withe a mirror portal
mirror portal = backwards character. this + move trigger = cool
