Been working on some preliminary ideas to do exactly that. Was thinking it would be nice to have the system set the colour based on events. i.e. getting dark set the colour to white, late in the evening change to maybe blue, it's AM, go to bed set them to off. You could almost use the light colour as a clock.
Egad! Yes! I've been wanting to do kitchen/bathroom fan duration control with a multiple button press, rather than getting a fan-specific switch with buttons for each duration. Pressing a button with a resulting color change seems ideal. Even if no other automation is used.
