- Tally Hall grew up, strapped their ties back on, left the tiny indie label that pushed them out of the nest, and signed on to a major label this year. The batch of songs they've been playing over the last few years, from the album Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, were re-recorded and re-mixed for their Atlantic Records re-release.
Beyond the cover songs which have also been a calling card, fan-builder and staple of their live show, the band has been playing these same songs for at least the last three to four years. Some may be hopign they are nearing the end of their life, and a new release should be on the horizon. I'm sure the band is grateful and hopeful as well. Some of the new material is starting to find its way out to the internet even.
Beyond the obvious humor and frivolity involved in their writings and recordings, this band is filled with talent and enthusiasm. Maybe it's all a little too kitchy for the band to ever end up being labeled as "great", especially at their young age, but they certainly will always fit the "clever" and "fun" categories.
Appealing to young and old alike, Tally Hall is a wholesome bunch of fun-loving musicians. When they stopped by The Pop Machine studio for our session they were all business. Displaying the talent, professionalism and charm that has helped them reach major label status and book more than a few late night talk show gigs. Their good looks, catchy melodies and tight harmonies will be enough to sell some records and keep them in the public eye even if they have to play these same songs and covers for the time being. Their next effort will be the true test of their staying-power and relevance, but the one thing you'll be able to count on is it will be fun.
Greener is one of their most underrated tracks,, it’s ridiculously catchy
RIGHT? I keep getting it stuck in my head somehow
It really is tho
(This comment made me smile on how true it is)
IKR THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING
It sounds like an emo love song and I love it

This was more than one take. You can see at 3:26 Joe's headphones are slipping off and at 3:29 they're suddenly on just fine.
Maybe it completely fell off lmao
OH MY GOD YEAH
yeah! at the end of the ruler of everything laundromatinee video, they go "yeah that was a good take we did good that time" and then one of them says "do you wanna go back and do greener again?"
@@junedevero9453 lmao that's hilarious
@@tally_hal wait is that you?
Dig Tally Hall too bad they haven't done anything in a while. :(
That's cool. My oldest daughter loved them when they were the Happy Monster Band on Nick. She rediscovered them recently as Tally Hall and introduced them to me. Quirky fun.
Rob Cantor from Tally Hall released an album last year (as well as Shia LaBeouf Live) and Joe from Tally Hall made a somewhat experimental album in 2012 called "Hawaii Part II". They're both really good, if you haven't heard them.
that must've been fab.
My my, it's been quite a while.
You said, not realizing it would be another 4 or more years ;-;
greener is in the top 5 best tally hall songs i accept no other opinion
bro a 2008 video with 720p quality
Probably cause it's recorded by an official label with an expensive camera, still impressive though. Considering the climate CZcams was in at the time.
For real. I love the laundromatinee concerts for the quality.. visual & sound
this song is criminally underrated
at the last chorus rob didnt say the last two words. damn that left me feeling empty
