I have no doubt about paying to see this young lady in concert. She's absolutely amazing.👏👏
It's a Song written and recorded by Dolly Parton
@@terrystikeleather4717 Thanks Terry🙏
I wouldn’t go to see her for free she isn’t that good🤷
@@orlandosoto6080 I respect your opinion.🙏
That was insane! This young lady is going to go far! I had to watch this like a million times to believe I was actually seeing and hearing this! It's absolutely unbelievable how talented and humble she is. She was petrified but she did it! 100% nail on the head! ❤
Luci, that was soo beautiful ❤
Hello, I'm sure Dolly Parton would be proud of her. Lucie Jones did her best.
An absolute sweetheart... Beautiful voice indeed 💜💌
Dolly's comment about Whitney's version was an example of Dolly's humility, and her graciousness towards another singer. Yes, Whitney DID yell it, whereas Lucie sang it more like Dolly does : with the amazing pathos in her voice that gives it that 'heartbroken' quality. To me, the Whitney version conveys a sense of self - pity or bitterness, while Dolly's and Lucie's are an expression of genuine enduring love.
She surprised everyone including Simon. What a voice❤
It's like she had the best of when Whitney sang it and the best of when Dolly sand it that made each version so special and blended them both and wow amazing.
Lucie.. nailed it! 🥰
Whitney Houston covered "I Will Always Love You" in 1992 for the movie "The Bodyguard", but Dolly Parton wrote and originally recorded this song in 1973.
She born to sign,she amazing❤🤗
Yes, let's remember it's a Dolly Parton song, not a Witney song!
Exactly!
regardless, she killed it
Dolly wrote it, because she was leaving the Porter Wagner show. However, Whitney made better.
maybe so but Whitney made it hers and its her version that so many try to imitate
Whitney executed better even Dolly knows
Loved her interpretation!
She is lovely, has talent and sings a lot, with great promise.
Ela é uma simpatia, tem talento e canta muito, uma grande promessa.
Yeah . . . Whitney . . . it's actually a Dolly Parton song, Simon.
Whitney made it popular in the film "The Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner in 1992, which is why everyone thinks it's "her" song. Yes, Dolly released it originally in 1974, but it didn't quite have the same success for Dolly as it did for Whitney, hence the previous statement. Just saying...
@@avisdaniels6194Dolly sang it at the end of her television show every week. I think you are sadly mistaken when you say that she didn't have the same success as Whitney. She sang it 100 times better than Whitney with zero effort.
@@avisdaniels6194and DOLLY WROTE IT
Yes, Dolly wrote it, but it will always be Whitney's song.
Even Dolly would say much the same.
@@avisdaniels6194Dolly also sang it to Burt Reynolds in the 1982 movie, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. A very emotional scene.
She is right up there with Whitney!
You are comparing a child to someone who od'd in the bathtub.
She can do it for sure! Braw!!
Wow! Tears for Lucie for that performance and for Whitney thinking about what should have been. Lucie really does not know how amazing is. So happy for her parents and family too.
Awesome video!
Tonal quality is quite impressive! Her notes were spot on from what I heard! The timing was different, but she sang it her way, which is what she's supposed to do, and she did it well!
Beautiful song and voice
One of my favorite songs ever..
She's awesome.
Not only was it written by Dolly Parton, but it was written as a farewell song for her then singing partner and her mentor Porter Wagoner. If yall need or want to know more about this song, then as I'm often told to do Google it. Nuff Said.
Girrllllll ur awesome
If Simon likes you... you have it..!!!!!
Really: I know a lot of people think Simon is kind of a jerk. But, he is an incredible judge of talent, when he says the performer is not singing up to par, or has picked the wrong song for themselves... he's always right. And, unlike some judges on these shows, you can tell that every cell in his body is listening to the performer, especially when they are surprisingly good. Amanda is the same way. And, when his often stern demeanor sees true talent, especially if the performer is genuine & has a measure of humility...he'll crack that wide, genuine smile, and you know "you've made it".
Old story but she is unique ❤
🎉Wow!
❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello, hoping one day Lucie Jones will be able to sing a duet with Dolly Parton.
when was this audition? Or the judges are getting younger? I have not seen seen them this young in the last 20 years!
@msblue X Factor UK 2009 - Have a fantastic day :)
@@nickyemm4633 aaaah...2009!... Thanks... I was convinced plastic surgery was making the judges look so young and beautiful
Wondering where Lucie is now
I wanted to hear her on the key change. That would’ve sealed the deal for me.
Subtitles ?
Old clip
CHERYL IS STILL AMAZING BEAUTIFUL.
this is quiet an old video (reposted)
She was in Midsummer.
Just needs training to make it perfect! So MUCH is there!!!!!!! She didn't change the key, just the tempo down a notch.
I will always, like Dolly's version best !!!
One of the hardest songs in the world! Don't be ridiculous!
I like Dolly’s version!
This was closer to how Dolly Parton, who wrote the song, probably envisioned singing it. Intensely personal, without the vocal histrionics, which frankly, I found irritating in Whitney Houston's version (Although Houston was a vocalist without peer). There are many ways to interpret a song, and this was beautiful.
Holy smokin wow!
Why would Simon make a remark like that before she has even begun to sing!
Because it’s a fuqing hard song. Most can’t even pull it off
Not pitch perfect but damn close good job
Old content
Possibly no one would even know this song exists without Whitney. The composer is still, obviously the most important. But it is both their song.
You would be very wrong.
I’m sure Dolly put those royalties to good use.
Dolly Parton wrote and sang this song first. Dolly is the bomb!
This song DID NOT NEED WHITNEY TO BE A HIT
First
First what...??.
Boo to the judges that liked it shame on you
Nah, don't think so Has not quite got it, it's obvious most of you don't listen to good singers. Yes great in a pub m but other than that. "NAH"
I agree it was ok for a party but she isn’t that special, nice young lady though 😊
@@orlandosoto6080 Yes mate I agree with that.
I am into classical singers but I thought for this type of show she did well and in fact better than most contestants 🏴
Better than Whitney in my opinion. Whitney just yells it, whereas Lucie actually sings it. Way to go!
Hardest song...nails it.... no gold buzzer?!?
This was a long time ago, don't think they had introduced the golden buzzer back then?
THIS GIRLS ALMOST AS GOOD AS WHITNEY....... DAMN GOOOOOOD
Always these same xdcfresjy songs…
Simon is ridiculous, in my opinion
Nahh
Boring..
Eh! It was very mediocre. I’ve heard better.
WOW
And where was the big ending? That is the hallmark of the song.
Comment détrôner Whitney ?
Malgré un talent moyen elle n’arrive pas à la cheville de cette merveilleuse chanteuse !
Désolé,,c’est Désastreux !
Nothing special, they said no to better performsnces
