  • We called down to Cleet (Trevor Thompson) to chat with him about the Claas Xerion, which JD Townleys & Son are running for its 15th season. He tells us all there is to know about this machine. Will it last another 15 season’s??
    GRASSMEN are the fast-paced, global agriculture phenomenon whose video content and merchandise are recognised worldwide. The business was started in 2009 by current director Gareth Gault, known to fans as ‘Donkey’. His love and passion for machinery allowed him to experiment with cameras and upload content to CZcams. To his surprise, a large following soon developed and the niche in the market for real-life, documentary, farming and machinery action made it possible to drive the brand forward.
    We at GRASSMEN, pride ourselves on providing an exclusive look into agricultural manufacturers, meeting real, working farmers, showing and demonstrating farming machinery through all seasons such as silage and slurry, and ultimately educating and entertaining our fans.
    If you love all things agriculture from top manufacturers such as John Deere, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, JCB, Land Rover and many many more, come and join #teamgrassmen, we would love to have you.

    What a yoke & what a credit to the operator. £125k new & 15 seasons, that machine won't owe the contractor a penny.

    I understand the meaning behind the cab being able to turn, what I don't get (please correct if I'm wrong), this machine will be on a field more than a road ok?! The tyre tread is the wrong way round for field work right ??

      Front and Back actually opposite to each other if you look again. Not an issue unless grip is needed which it is not for this kind of work

    Why did Claas stop producing these smaller size Xerions?

    • @claas6504
      @claas6504 Před 3 lety +5

      Not enough demand for just for mowing and buckrake market, wood chippers and slurry tankers got bigger and more people wanted them for tillage operations, the current smallest the 4200 produces roughly 450hp? But very similar size to the 3300/3800.

    • @Grassmen
      @Grassmen  Před 3 lety +3

      Difference between a Big M 450 and Xerion 5000 is 60 odd HP? Doesn't seem that stupid a question. Even a 4200 Xerion is 460 odd HP.
