  • I'm back! Over the summer I went to Woodward West in Tehachapi, CA to visit some friends and ended up spending some time on the trampolines to explain what happens during a double bounce.
    Please don't try this at home.

    I remember when I was six and made a game on my trampoline based completely about who could ‘steal the other person’s ‘ bounce and go really high. Good times

      @@Corporis it's kind of crazy how children play with science, know how it works but cannot explain the specifics behind it. For example: the "wobbly pencil optical illusion" when a student wobbles a pencil between two fingers and makes it appear to be made of rubber. Could you explain that to me next?

    We used to play crack the egg one person cruel up like a egg and the person who stay an egg the longest win so we always hit the double bounce to get the other person to crack

    This is dangerous for young kids. Its how my 4 year old son got his leg broke. He was jumping with his aunt and the force broke his leg.

    It's not that unsafe. Me and my bro used to do this all the time as kids!

    • @RoninMilli
      @RoninMilli Před 4 lety +3

      It's unsafe for people who aren't tough or know how to fall properly. One wrong fall or "brace for impact" and someone's arm or neck is broken. It's why a lot of equestrians walk away from horrific falls... They know how to "fall properly". Same with skateboarders, BMX bikers... Really anyone in a sport where falling is inevitable

    We use to play a game called "crack the egg". One person sits in the middle with their arms and legs tucked, and you have to bounce them until they loosen their body.

    family member did this years ago and snapped their ankle in half from all that 'energy" had to have countless surgeries and never walked the same again, no cap. hes not lying when he says it isnt safe. not sure why they even did it for the video. not sure if video makers even realize the dangers that can happen during it.

  • @jucom756

    You can keep boosting as much as the springs can handle, because someone that flies higher has more kinnetic energy to transfer coming down do if you double bounce a double bounced person they get thrice the kinetic energy.

    It's not unsafe...it's awesome. Anything worth doing has risk. Being aware of risk and participating doesn't make something unsafe. Being unaware of risk and participating, does. Trampolines should be pretty self explanatory in this regard. Anyone who hurts themselves on a trampoline doesn't really have an out here. Go double bounce. You'll be fine. (if you break your leg don't sue me)

    Broke my ankle when I was 5 on my bday because of a double bounce. Double bouncing is stupid and dangerous.
