  • In this live ukulele tutorial I'll teach you how to play an Easy Blues Shuffle in A. Get my Blues Rhythm Course at bit.ly/2u3Ztkr
I love the Blues, from B.B. King to Stevie Ray Vaughan, from Muddy Waters to Jimi Hendrix, I can't get enough.
Fortunate for us the Blues fits perfectly on the ukulele.
In our uke lesson today we will go over a 12 Bar Shuffle Blues in the key of A. Remember the Blues only uses 3 chords so in the key of A the chords will be the A chord (I), the D7 chord (IV) and the E7 chord (V).
But since this is a Shuffle Blues, unlike a straight Rock Blues like what Chuck Berry plays, I have to show you how to get the shuffle or swing feel.
Also we will be adding some moving melody notes within each chord to get a "boogie woogie" feel. Get you ukulele and let's rock.

I like that blues shuffle and I've been working on it, trying to give the same "attitude" you're able to bring to it. I'll keep at it, thanks.

You must learn how to correctly pronounce the name of your instrument. When the Portuguese first brought this instrument to Hawaii the locals said it sounded like a “jumping” or dancing “flea”. A flea ( or lice) are called ukus- pronounced “ooh koos”. “Lele” means to jump or dance, pronounced laylay. So an ukulele is correctly pronounced oohkoolaylay, an ukulele, not a yukalaylee. Thanks

You are confusing those who are playing looking at TABS. You showed the third note in A for the shuffle but your D7 was disaster. You should have shown the 3 th shuffle note with the TABS. I don't get it. I am going somewhere else.
    Thanks anyway.
