- Planting TCs emerse is a great way to only buy a TC cup once. For me, growing plants emerse is like having a backup of your hard drive. For this reason I start most my TC growing emerse.

So glad I saw this video! Im looking to do the same with Hygrophila chai tissue culture I just got. The plantlets don't have roots though. Would this cause an issue? Sorry if you answered this question in the video and I missed it.
I have never seen the ceramic ones but the snips are Japanese thread snips!
Yep! They're also used in Bonsai and Cannabis Horticulture. 🤙
Is there any reason you don’t have drainage holes in the containers ?
I don't water much. I also depend on the bins not draining to maintain humidity and lower the need to water daily.
This is super helpful. I have horrible luck with TC plants but will definitely be giving this a try. I had no idea. Is there anything special I need to do for converting from emerse to submerged
These are just steps that I use that make the process simpler. You could just toss most these into a bin with some soil and they'll convert on their own. However, the more fragile ones need some tlc.
I’m hoping to get some cryptocorne flamingo and probably an Anubias or two. Would love to try my hand at Chai but I don’t trust my experience just yet!

Could you elaborate more about the tubs and cups method, would like to make sure. I am assuming drainage cups/cups with holes filled with soil placed in the reservoir? Did I get it right?
Nope. There's no drainage. I just don't over water. I allow the soil to become it's own ecosystem. This keeps the plants thriving. The soil slowly decomps and then I refresh the bin. That's years down the line though as I'm not constantly pushing clean water though it.

U also mentioned that you have huge beliefs about the soil(microbes and bacteria etc.) Would love it if you could share more on it. Would really be insightful!
