Belief NEEDS to also be a male counselor for BLACK MEN! The way he allows and kind of “tricks” these men to be vulnerable and they open up and really express themselves is beautiful. I feel like he is the perfect gateway to help US ( black women) understand them (black men) because he did the WORK in understanding his wife! He is the perfect moderator! He doesn’t talk much but when he does YOU listen!

i completely agree i’ve been watching & growing up his family for years. he is my role model & who i look up to as a black teenager with no father in his life. he inspires me & shows me exactly how to be the best husband, father & man i know i will and can become. growing up i never had an example of black love. i was raised by a single mother with the help of my aunts & my sisters. i never had anyone to teach me what a man looks like, how to take care of a family & be present but instead i taught myself what he shouldn’t. I decided i would always be there for my family no matter what because he wasn’t there for me. i didn’t exactly how i would be there to play to my role as a father since i didn’t have one but glen/beleaf has been able to show me & i continue to learn so much from him

Omg.. I LOVED the part where he’s speaking about “I am free” because his father showed affection & STILL does! As a mental health therapist & study of psychology & the brain, we have to understand when you open the brain of a female & a male, there’s ONLY a 10% difference… We’ve created entire societal norms based on TEN percent difference. Both male & female children need similar things. And I love that his father showed so much affection & he was raised in love & not survival, just because he was a boy.

Masculinity isn't a monolith for who men are. Masculinity is always Subjective and NOT Objective.
I fought against this type of THINKING all my life! I kept hearing what a man is, and i NEVER fitted that category, so, what the hell am I then. I used to ask God, WHYYY, why you made me like THIS, because I don't fit-in.... Until God showed me that I was FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE! Now that i know who I am, I'm untouchable on many levels, and I'm free from Man-Made ideology of WHO or WHAT i should be, beside just BEING who God made ME to be💪🏽.
No man or woman can define masculinity for anyone.... #BeYouBeFree💪🏽

I LOVE everything about this conversation! I don't see any toxic masculinity within the Convo, but some of them have been raised in a bit of toxic masculinity. MASCULINITY is beautiful. Femininity is beautiful, Toxicity is that other element of life that are Man-Made and goes against God/Nature's design .... Ex: Men don't cry😐, well, why in the hell did God give men tears😐.
That Man-Made ideology is UNNATURAL. As humans, we mostly hurt ourselves with UNREALISTIC expectations for manhood and womanhood... That's why so many people struggle with this, because, what POPULAR society is telling them, ISN'T who they are.
So now, they are trying to be this FAKE MAN OR WOMAN, in order to FIT-in so people won't give them💩 for being themselves.

I wish my kids, especially my oldest son, could have experienced this level of manhood growing up. This level is just rare. As women you can only teach your sons how to show up in the world from the perspective of what we see and what we don’t like from men we’ve experienced. But the emotional attachment from a male figure will still be missing at the end of the day. Instilling confidence in my son was important. Being a protector of his sister were important. Making eye contact and a firm hand shake were important and a must for him to know. Granted he listen but it would have been great had his own dad been that influential to him. But it’s not all bad, he’s in school to be a doctor, however still to this day, he wants a dad.

Women are not gods/ / goddess @12:25. And then allowing their bodies to perform an activity that only they can do (after receiving special deposit from their male partner) is not supernatural, it’s just natural. So don’t put any woman on a pedestal because of a biological activity that only she can perform. Both genders are equally valuable, but not equal purposes.
@28:28 is in alignment with comments @12:30. And his real issue is growing up without a father.
    Don’t be an absentee parent.
