- Libby Rich had an illegal abortion in Alabama when she was 19 years old. Rich spoke with reporter Abbey Crain about her experience and the repercussions her illegal abortion had on her life.
On May 15, 2019, Alabama’s Governor Kay Ivey signed into law a bill that makes it a crime to perform an abortion.
The “Human Life Protection Act,” or HB314 would make performing an abortion a Class A felony, punishable by 20 to 99 years in prison.
HB314 does not include any exceptions for instances of rape or incest.

We need to be more empathetic to the child. The mother is not the one being deliberately and legally killed. Her unborn child is. A pregnant woman already has a child inside of her, so you're not talking about the choice to *have* a child, you're talking about the choice to *kill* a child. Something can still be wrong whether or not it affects me personally. If someone killed you, would that affect me? No, probably not, because I don't know you. But it would still be wrong. Killing a child is not a right. That's not your body. They have their own body too.

Not to mention, the actual purpose of the womb is to keep the baby alive. That's how all of us are here right now. So not only is abortion wrong, but it even goes against what the womb itself is trying to do.

Having a medical and legal system fail people is disappointing. My heart aches for this woman.
So I would have vasectomy’s mandatory for 12 year old boys no excuse’s. Then after they graduate from college or learn a trade and they are not in college debt and are living in a residence are able to pay for it, along with their car payment and insurance, utilities, credit card payments then if they are in a relationship it better be healthy and then discuss about having a child if ready reverse the vasectomy.
Why punish all boys? Boys don't have abortions. All promiscuous girls/women boys/girls should be fixed. The trail of carnage has gone on long enough.

I don’t think abortion should be illegal, for these sorts of reasons. No one should be shamed and definitely not arrested for having an abortion… but morally, I feel that woman lose the right to bear a child if they willingly destroy one in their body. And I mean willingly… not a woman who has been pushed into abortion when they don’t want one - like many are. There should be severe penalties for those who force an abortion on a woman. This won’t be a popular opinion, but abortion should never be done lightly
All murderers should always be shamed for their entire lives which they deserve no more than the person they chose to have ripped into pieces. Until those selfish women can bring the person they slaughtered back to life then they should all be locked away in dungeons where evildoers belong. There's no excuse for a woman to have sex until she is mature enough to be a decent mother to the children her sexual choices create.

She should’ve been able to have a safe abortion and likely would’ve became a mother when the time was right for her but she was forced in to making a decision that has robbed her of the family she would’ve had later down the road. But I’m sure there are all kinds of people on here that think she deserved to be infertile. People care more about the embryo or fetus than they ever would about a woman. Yes- after bearing 5 children and seeing the Glory of God through their physical appearance, their different and unique individual talents, their spirits, their accomplishment which has me soaring to the moon, I just cannot imagine them being snuffed out by abortion. It’s unimaginable. You can see her sadness in her eyes . An abortion is not a joyous event because abortion belongs to the spirit of death.

@@gdolly166 p.s.just a little joyful tidbit- my fourth boy- beautiful blond eyed- when he was in 4th grade- learned to crochet and once he learned- he loved it! I never witnessed anything like it!!😃 he crocheted all kinds of things and made hats for his friends. Once he made up his own pattern while crocheting a blanket. Amazing! He won all kinds of high school awards- some of the kids labeled him as “most adorable IB student” and “most likely to be a supermodel!” My mother would have loved seeing that. She kept Vogue magazines around the house when I was growing up and she sewed clothes so beautifully. That kid can ski, ice skate, play musical instruments, he performed at tap dance as a kid. He drove across the country while I can’t drive at night anymore!😂😂😂 Anyhow, there is much more but that is just a sample of the joyous beauty I have seen in this child’s life. He’s grown and on his own. Oh how much fun I had raising him!His laugh would make you smile! And that’s what people don’t think- the babies don’t stay babies forever- they grow - out of the nest- leaving behind a legacy of joyous memories.🙂🌻
